I Have A Leaf Growing On An Inflo
Comments (8)Hi Gil Now that is a the strangest thing I have seen...Wonder what you are to do with that?? a new plant coming out of your leaf!! ha ha ha..wierd. Yes leaf coming out of a inflo..plus a claw, thats wierd too. Now I don't have anything that odd. But one of my leaves has turned over..instead of flat turned over looking at ground. I checked, was dry, watered it the other night..watered it tonight, still like that. Now why on the oddities, full moon? ha hope is heat Karen B....See MoreLeaf Problem I've Never Seen Before - Please Help!!! (Pics)
Comments (10)I see similar leaves every year and do not know what causes them. My plants seem to get affected after a sharp drop in temperature after some very hot days. They always continue to grow and produce. The weird leaves may only last for 1 or 2 branches then return to normal. As the deformed leaves grow in size they often get more and more normal looking. Acid rain? Air polution? Herbicide drift? I don't know but I think you will still get tomatoes, at least I did for the last 3 years with plants that developed leaves like the ones you posted....See MoreHas anyone ever seen a clematis like this before?
Comments (7)Once in a while you get a "sport" or mutation. That's how some new varieties are discovered. You can bag the flower to collect the seeds when it finishes blooming and see what happens to the offspring. If other blossoms on the same vine are normal, it's unlikely that a gene will be passed down. You can mark that vine (use a twist tie or piece of yarn) to see if more of these flowers occur....See MoreHas anyone seen this before?
Comments (3)Plumeria do have the ability under managed conditions to air root like an orchid but it is not a natural habit. That looks to me like a branch which started forming but has since sealed up and been passed over for reasons unknown. Unfortunately they never amount to anything. DSP are wonderful plants and yours is very nice. its one of my favorites for its growth habits, shiny green leaves, and abundant blooms. Some say it has very little scent which may be true per flower but with the amount of blooms a mature DSP can produce all those little bits add up to a wonderful perfume scent. Great job on it.
