How to clean bathroom 'splashing' off marble floor?
Comments (5)I am 99% sure your DH is not missing the target. It is the nature of water to splash when a stream of water hits it from a couple feet up. Try this yourself with a tub of water outside. Put paper towels around the tub and pour a small stream of water into it. The paper towels will show you where the splashes hit. Having said that, you are still getting a little urine even from the splash. But I would guess more of your problem is just water spots drying on the floor. Do you have hard water? They could be hard water rings. If so, then vinegar would take them off. Of course vinegar also takes the shine off of marble. I won't have marble in the house so I don't know if there is a mildly abrasive marble polish that might help you....See MoreHow to clean marble floors - what PH Neutral cleaner?
Comments (7)Thanks Bill - The link did not work, but I founds something from Miracle sealants - http://store.miraclesealants.com/product_p/miracln.htm Rookie & gam51 - I will check out those two as well. So what did those use before there were all these specialized cleaners? Is there any "homespun" natural choice? I feel like I have a cleaning wardrobe (something different for every surface and wall) these days and long for some simple cleaner to do everything (or most everything.) Is it bad news to use typical all purpose cleaners (sprays like fantastic) and than wipe with water, or use liquid dish soap, or is there some eco stuff that is good? thanks...See Morehow do you clean your natural stone bathroom?
Comments (22)Thanks for the laugh about "purified angel's tears"! I'm really leaning towards marble in the shower area...I did some internet research and read that a diluted bleach solution is okay. I'm not sure what think! I printed out catmom's reply (THANK YOU!)with all the product names in case we decide to go with natural stone. Went tile looking again today and saw some pretty porcelains, which I know are much less maintenance. Nothing is "set in stone" LOL:)...See MoreCleaning your kitchen - What natural products do you use?
Comments (30)Very true, kfhl - many air fresheners work by using nasal anesthetics to keep you from smelling whatever you're trying to cover up. Now that I have very few things that are chemically scented in the house, walking past the aisle of air fresheners actually burns my nose. We use natural beeswax candles if we want to use one - but that's usually saved for power outages. As far as the free and clear products are concerned...you can't be certain that it is safe for allergy sufferers. My husband is actually allergic to many components of commercially produced free/clear products - including a chemical that is frequently added to such products to 'remove' the other strong smells in the product to create a 'fragrance free' item - in lieu of adding a 'fragrance'....See MoreDragonfly Tile & Stone Works, Inc.
