What color blue to go with BM Tyler Taupe
Comments (4)We used Lenox Tan on the walls in this northwest bedroom with Shaker Beige on the ceiling and I have to say it sucks every ounce of light out of the room and is very dark. The flash on the camera brightens the look a lot over what it is in real life. We used Tyler Taupe on the ceiling in our study and we used Pearl Harbor on the walls. It too is a very dark color, but it works in this space as the room feels tall and narrow with the vaulted ceiling and the dark color helps bring the height back into proportion....See MoreWhat colors with pinky taupe?
Comments (21)kwsi: Yes, the carpet color is not good, though it is not as noticeable in person because the flash gave it more warmth. I have the option of having the wood floors refinished. Tib, I'm going back and forth on the sofa. It's a little bigger than the picture makes it look. The main problem is that it's just so low and I would prefer arms that are more like the chairs. The upholsterer came today and estimated $175 labor plus fabric. That includes cutting the arms down and taller legs. I may do it even if I move the sofa to another room. He said the quality is very good and hard to find (he had some negative things to say about Ethan Allen, but that's another story). I love the English arm, two-seat sofa. I'm not seeing too many of them here (Dallas/Fort Worth) that are on the smaller side. The challenge with having the chairs on either side of the fireplace is that it would leave a lot of space even with chair tables. I had that configuration for years, but I've never really liked walking in the front door and facing the back of a sofa, even with a sofa table. Comments (2)We had Cumaru hardwood in the master bedroom of our last home. Loved them. Your second pic is more what ours looked like. I also can't see the gray color cabinet pic you posted going with the floors. Cumaru is very exotic looking. I could see a combination of wood and white tones and add gray somewhere in the mix, but not the light tone posted. In our bedroom, we had 15 ft. of wood and frosted glass "Shoji" style closet doors across one side of the room (no walk in closet) . It went great with the floors . A lower platform bed with crisp, tightly tucked bedding .Our night stands were a contemporary style with a warm color wood drawer wrapped in espresso wood and metal tipped wood legs. I used sheer white curtains with bamboo shades to lighten the look . Obviously an Asian influence with a modern twist . I realize I'm describing a bedroom, but perhaps it can give you a sense of at least one particular style that works with it. Contemporary, clean lined wood cabinetry with white accents or white cabinetry with wood accents would look lovely . Perhaps gray countertops . In this first pic you can see how you can mix a gray modern staircase with the rich floors. In this second pic, I personally like the contrast of white cabinets, just not the style with the floors. I think a contemporary white kitchen would be better. And I don't like pastel backsplash with the floors. But, that's just my own opinion .:-) I could see these and the darker gray of the island ....See MorePaint Color go gray, off white or taupe?
Comments (7)What is the vanity? And countertops? Is this the floor tile or wall tile? My first inclination would be going with either the white or the lightest gray in the tile without seeing more details about the space....See MoreJulie B
