A week of blooms including today
Over the past two weeks I've had little time to focus on the garden but did take photos when I could. Our weather went from extreme heat to a cool down. We've had peak bloom this week but so many buds yet to open....overwhelming me.
JOSHUA SLOCUM - not a very big increaser but I love the bloom. Moving as soon as it finishes.
Two different scapes blooming this morning. Darker vs lighter color.
BETTY SPAGETTI (with Boss Lady) this morning.
FLYING TRAPEZE - this morning openers
EVIDENCE OF ALIENS - opening this morning
ISLE OF PATMOS - had started a couple of days ago.
ALEGHENY SKYLINE - I'm disappointed in the lack of scapes but I did move it last fall.
SELF DETERMINATION - always a keeper here
BERMA ABERCROMBIE - I had to block the sun to get a photo this morning.
RAMBUNCTIOUS ROSIE - wow, both clumps I have in two separate garden space have really taken off this year.
Unknown seedling that has been here for several years. Blooms typically start late July.
EMPEROR'S CHOICE - massive clump so dividing this fall. Once the sun hits the clump it is hard to get a good photo but I tried.

Comments (13)I was in charge of my 50th (gulp) reunion last fall. Out of a class of about 330, a fair number are deceased and about 75, plus spouses, attended the event. We mailed to everyone first and got very few return letters, so I am guessing that the letters were received. In the letter we directed people to our class web site, which I set up using Class Creator. The basic version was free and did everything we needed. It's nearly a year later and people are still checking in. Reunions are a huge amount of work! We also set up a Facebook page, but not everyone is on FB. Enjoy every minute of it and don't get caught up with "being in charge" so that you don't have fun, too. You will be surprised how old people have gotten. Comments (155)Hi Diane! That's great your foliage looks good! That's the most important I think. The blooms just can't survive heat like that... well usually. I don't know how Love Song looks that good. It has to be the Protekt right? Anna they're actually not that thick of petals. They kind of remind me of the thickness of Iceberg to be honest. It perplexes me how both of those are doing so well in this heat. They don't seem like they should, but they do. You're right that the thicker petals usually do hold up better though. Although, my thick ones still crisped today if they were left outside (Black Baccara, Dark Desire, Falstaff, Peach Swirl, etc.). It was 107 today and yesterday was 105 though, even without the addition of the radiant heat here, so you can't blame the roses! Diane, yup I treated all my roses and citrus with Protekt. I have applied it by watering overhead maybe 4-5 times so far over the past 2 or 3 months. I didn't treat my veggies or berries though. I was being conservative and now I think that was a mistake. The raspberries may end up being ok next year, but they don't look good now. The blueberries still taste good, but the foliage is baked. I bet your peppers pop back. Mine have wilted and crisped often, but they perk right back up overnight with some water. They're sturdy veggies. My lettuces are all bolting... so tonight I better make a salad! :-)...See More
