Need small house paint color ideas
Comments (35)I'm so sorry everyone that I haven't popped back in. My pc crapped out on me and I'm borrowing a friend's right now. I love all of the different options you've been doing. It's amazing to see how different they all look! I've also been busy caulking, cleaning and priming. I promise I'll get back on again soon to follow up with everyone, but it may not be until Monday or Tuesday. I can't thank you all enough for helping me with this. And no, we still haven't decided on the final colors! LOL I'm the queen of procrastination! The window boxes are awesome and I love how it looks with the rhody removed. Now I'll need to find a spot to move it to!...See MoreNeed paint color advice for trim or house and driveway ideas
Comments (45)Well you've been busy! It looks so much better with the bushes gone and the shutters off at the door. I think you can solve the imbalance with landscaping and making the front door more of a focal point with the right color and a tall pot between it and the window. You could also add some large address numbers in black to the left of the door....See MoreNeed ideas on paint/stain color and beautification of old log home
Comments (32)Donna, my husband and I live in a log home in the N.C. woods. We use and recommend a product called New Again for cleaning your log siding. It is biodegradable, only requires low pressure rinsing, non-bleach and leaves no streakes between cleaning sections. Regardless of the stain/preservative you choose, you will need to clean the log siding of the pollen, sap and dirt before you restain. The company's website is www.newagain-roofndeck.com. I personally like the red on the windows and would apply it to the windows on the upper section of the house. Especially if someone near you already has green. My opinion on the portico is live with it for a bit before doing anything; it does serve a purpose which you might find over time is practical and protective. However, I would consider removing the three bottom rows of log siding in the front to open up your line of sight. It could possibly bring in more light under the portico and the front elevation of the portico would not look so low. Good luck with your new place and enjoy the experience of a log home. We are still in love with ours after 16 years....See MoreMake Lap Siding House Appear More Modern
Comments (8)Very late in the building process and too little information. The first step is to define the problem well; we need to know what you know. Is thie photo of the front or the back of the house? Is there a garage? What material and size is the siding? Post a photo of the siding? Will there be corner boards? What will the size of the window trim be? What will the porch posts, guard rail amd stairs look like? Do you have an elevation drawing? Take photos of all 4 corners and some of the neighborhood. Your best chance for a modern appearance with a traditional roof was to adopt a "Minimal Traditional" style. Also, the siding height and treatment of the corners and window trim but if that can't be done paint these trim elements the same color as the siding....See MoreLynn Remington
