I t wouldnt bother me that it sits back further. Its nice to be back further from a street. I think your house looks very nice, however, I do agree with Beverly, that the garage doors are not the nicest. Your neighbor on the left of the picture appears to have a much nicer garage door. I also like the ones pictured above. The tall over large tree, shrub, bush?? that is blocking your doorway, is not very attractive, and I think that should be moved out of there. Other than that, it looks very good. Oh and darker paint, will make it look smaller too. Lighter makes a house look bigger.

The fact that the entry is blocked off and the landscaping looks pretty overgrown is not helping the house have more presence. New garage doors, but not with those same window inserts the neighbor has, will help. So will pressure washing the drive and perhaps staining it. The fact that is the same color as the neighboring home doesn't add anything. Look at other brown roofed homes to get some colorways in your head. Here are a couple of ideas.

A significant part of the issue is the completely obscured front door. I only found it because I knew there had to be an entrance somewhere and I saw a tiny white railing peeking out from behind that monster-bush.

Change the landscaping, change the garage doors as noted above. Go with an off-white house color and maybe a taupe trim color.

It would be a nice change from what you have now, but not too drastic. And probably everyone will start copying you.

New house numbers, garage lights, paint the downspouts the same color as the siding.
