I hope responding on Sunday is not too late! I was cooking in the woods all weekend on cast iron and dutches. I have a Napolean 450RBI and absolutely love it. It has the infrared burner that is great for steaks and hamburgers. My is stainless steel with the cover. But the 450RBI is over $1200.00 dollars. So I'm not sure it fits your budget. You only mention your price restrictions but not your requirements for a grill. Do you want electronic ignition for lighting? Do you want stainless steel or regular metal finish? I own a Perfect Flame 4-burner LP Gas Grill model number GAC3615, and have had it for 4 months. Tonight, I lit the BBQ to preheat my grill to 350 degrees. I placed 1 large rack of ribs and 1 small rack of ribs on the grill and turned the heat to its lowest setting on 2 of the 4 burners. In approximately 7 minutes, I got up to baste the ribs and the grill was engulfed in flames. A hole 10 inches in diameter had burned through the hood of the grill. The back portion of the metal hood turned a glowing red and began to melt, dripping molten metal onto the wheel of the grill which also melted. As the metal was burning and melting, it turned white and sparkled like a fourth of July fireworks sparkler. As the rear of the hood continued to burn, I went inside and got a fire extinguisher to put out the 3 foot tall flames. Since the gas was still on, the fire extinguisher had no effect on the flames, but it did work to put out the flaming wheel and the grass that had caught fire. I called the fire department since the metal was melting and dripping near the nearly full propane tank. Just as the fire department arrives, my husband was able to turn off the gas and the fire department was able to extinguish the flames. With three firemen, and multiple years of experience between them, they remarked that they had never seen a grill catch on fire like that. They were also surprised at the awful smell that had come from the grill and advised us to stay out of the yard and away from the grill to avoid breathing in whatever chemicals were released from the fire.

got the new one last night. put it together this morning. (71 min 38 sec from first cracking box open to cleaning up the trash) starting to put the oil on to season the iron. tahnks for the tips. burners flame to full power and i know the insides of my grill. the last one, i couldn't get the propane tank to hang on the guage, the top hooks were pointing down instead of up. found a few other discrepencies from the old one to this new one. suggest anyone that buys a pre assembled grill, any grill, go over it step by step in the instruction manual to make sure it is put together 100% correct. mine were all minor flaws, but someone might get one with a hose but on wrong or whatever. found out sam's pays the stock boys 25 dollars to put some together. faster they do it the more it is worth to them. guy i talked to says he has got it down to 35-40 minutes per grill. that is awfully fast to put your trust in that he didn't miss anything. Time for an update. 5 months (to the day) after receiving the NXR, it is finally installed. I ran into issues with cabinets and after exploring all options I could think of, finally gave up and installed the NXR as is. No range hood at this time until a kitchen remodel can be done and that is simply not in the budget anytime soon. The space I had to fit the NXR in is 30 1/8 inches wide. So I was a bit nervous about that. The main problem we ran into was the rear legs digging into the linoleum and stopping rearward progress. The guy helping me had a great idea and we dry soaped a couple of yardsticks, put them under the feet, and slid the range into that tight space. The adjustable feet were not very cooperative. We removed the toe kick and sorta had access to the front feet and no access to the rear feet. We could get one side to adjust, but not the other. The feet would not budge. The mistake we made was sliding the range in place before testing the foot adjustment. So we ended up shimming the left side feet. And finding a level reference was challenging too. I ended up using the oven racks as they seemed to be different from the front lip. I see no signs of any damage to the porcelain. The range was well packed and arrived without incident. I ran the burn in process. That is definitely stinky! And I am amazed at the burner control. From high, there are 3 steps ending in a simmer that looks barely enough to warm your hand. I had to turn off the kitchen lights just to see the flame at simmer. I bought a ChefAlarm and rack clip from Thermoworks to calibrate the oven. I hope to have time to do that soon. Testing oven accuracy Here are some pics of the burners. In the 4 burner shot, the lower left is high, then 1 click down going clockwise until the bottom right is at simmer. So far, I'm quite pleased with the NXR. I just need a new kitchen to go along with it! Edit: one thing I noticed (and it may be entirely normal) is that 30 minutes or so after doing the burn in process for the oven, the top of the oven door and the lip remained too hot to touch. Is that normal?
