I think the Clapper has to be plugged in. :) But a surface-mount wireless light switch might do the trick. They make wireless ceiling fan controllers; no reason you couldn't make a switch. But personally I'd just build the wall to accommodate the switch instead. I had a bathroom with out-swing double doors and a light switch on the outside wall. What a pain that was. As a result, I never used the overhead lights; I just walked in and turned on the vanity lights.

Weedyacres, your doors are exactly what I have been looking for now for months since I finally caved in and took the big closet door door off of each tiny walk in closet that blocked the other side of the closet when I opened it. I finally have two neat usable closets but I really would like doors on them. The door used to go inward into the closer since the hallway between the two closets was too skinny for them to go outward. But a client who is moving and never home has the French split type of doors on a normal standard size doorway and they come outward and I can see all of the closet when I opened them at his open house. Radaar, do you know if I can made the doors go outward instead of inward?

jujybean, afsa is putting you in the best direction. The lumberyard will be able to help you. Consider this alternative - bi-fold doors, say 4 - 12" in a 4' opening. I've seen those two way mirror bathrooms on TV-I think I'd give it a shot, I'm not at all modest! I appreciate that others are, however. The door I originally wanted was similar to that carinatex posted-a large panel of frosted glass, but I found a vintage exterior door with four glass panels at the top-the entire thing is quite heavy, so I'm sure sound isn't going to be an issue. That's odd that it's mentioned, because the current door is just hollow core and it's cut shorter than the threshold by about an inch-you can hear EVERYTHING from that door. The bathroom entrance was originally facing to the hall way-which would have give you view of the toilet & tub, but in the 70's the PO's added an addtion to the house, made the 3rd bedroom a sort of pass-through room (we call it our library because we've lined it with bookshelves) and the door now enters into that room. With the change, it allowed the sink to be visible from the door now, so it's more private. We don't get many guests-and those that do come over are family and friends who I don't think would be too uncomfortable. I can always mention the ensuite if someone really wanted more privacy. I don't mind if someone goes in to the master-I only let people I know very well into the most private parts of our home.
