Why haven't you called the company that installed it? That would be the very first thing to do. Simple. Done.

Once a day is not enough you need to water it more often ... minimum 2x (morning: evening)

You should have been watering it 2-3 times per day from the start. Once isn't enough. It's likely not dead-dead, so you still have a chance of it establishing okay. Start watering it several times per day.

Once a day could be enough......but it depends on the duration. Running a sprinkler system for a few minutes a couple times day is not as effective as running it once a day but for a long enough interval for the water to penetrate to the proper depth (down below the root zone) rather than just ticklng the surface. "Low and slow" is always the watchword for irrigating anything, including new sod. Most automated irrigation system are not set up on a schedule that actually satisfies plant needs. Do some reprogramming.

The assumption here is that you properly prepared the ground before you laid the sod, that you laid it correctly and that you rolled it after you laid it.

If once per day, then evening, when it won't immediately be baked off!

Sorry, but watering the lawn at night.....or late in the day....encourages the development of fungal issues. Water very early - dawn or shortly thereafter - so that the water has time to penetrate the soil profile before the heat of the day increases evaporation.

Never water anything in the evening; its a morning chore that prevents fungus and mold which thrive the cooler, dark conditions.

Thank you everyone for your replies! For the last couple of weeks we have been watering once a day (early morning) for 13 minutes at a time. Is it recommended we change it to a longer duration/more frequently than that?

It's pretty safe to say, Yes. That is no where near enough in most of North America in the height of summer..

Did you call the people who sold you the sod? What did they say? Did you prepare the ground correctly? Your grass is now 3 days closer to death if you haven't made any changes yet.

Check the grass to see if the soil is moist. Do this throughout the day. If the soil is dry and hard it needs more water. You should water new sod at least twice a day long enough so it does not dry out. The amount of time watered is meaningless and depends on your sprinkler system. the edges and corners will dry out first. Also, is the grass getting enough direct sunlight for the type of grass you have?

13 minutes doesn’t even begin to be enough water an hour might work .

Put out a plastic container and water until it reaches 1" deep. Water in morning 3 times a week until it looks really good, then cut back to 2 times. If you can't stick a 6" screwdriver into your lawn, you're not watering enough.

You need to use an osculating sprinkler for establishing sod.

Your sprinkler system is designed to keep establish plants alive. That doesn't work with sod. Take the advice of those posted above.
