Patricia Colwell Consulting, thank you for your help. We are planning to remove and paint the shutters and change up the landscape once the siding and roof are completed. Any suggestions for landscaping too?

i used BM White for spindles and used Stain color Ebony for the banister. Because banister gets touched a lot, our painter suggested we stain it instead of painting. But if you are leaning toward painting the banister, you should consider high gloss finish for easy clean up.

Hi - Your project looks exciting! I particularly like Passive, but there’s something about it worth mentioning. It’s a low Chroma, near neutral colour, which belongs to the Green-Yellow Hue Family. (As does Escape Gray, but that is a more ‘colourful’ colour and so more of its inherent greenness may be seen at times.) Near neutrals from this area of the colour wheel are perceived by many as ‘just grey’. And if the quality of light within a room is reasonably well balanced across the spectrum, it’s highly likely that’s how it will appear. However, any low Chroma (near neutral) colours, from this Hue Family neighbourhood are prone to shifting blue in imbalanced lighting. They aren’t blue and don’t have blue ‘undertones‘- it’s simply an effect of light quality upon the colour. And to know which version will turn up for you, requires testing in your space, with your light. Sample on a large moveable board or a Swatch Right paint/peel/stick decal, not directly on to the walls as you need to be able to move them around. Apologies if you have already gone through this! It’s just that Passive in particular, is such a chameleon-like colour and it so important to know what to expect. (I happen to like it in both versions, but I would hate for someone to plan for a soft grey and blue turns up!) Have a look at photographs of it on Houzz, Home Bunch, Pinterest and you will see just how varied it can appear. 🌈
