Comments (3)@HU-187528210 Thank you sooo much! We can absolutely avoid the built-in on the left wall 😊 I'm not particularly keen on that option either as it may detract from the FP and also make the room feel a bit crowded/narrow the entry way. Even without the built-in, the left wall does seem to provide the best location for a tv if we decide to have one since I love the little niche atop the FP and don't want to cover up that detail. Trying to visualize a good set up/use on that wall so it's open but doesn't feel empty! Thank you so much for your input! 🧡...See MoreHow Would You Furnish this Side-By-Side Living Room and Family Room?
Comments (10)Thanks for trying to help. I will answer your questions which also helps me to think it through: no children, but visiting grandchildren. -it is not a new build, but a remodel of a 50’s ranch. The addition is the covered porch and the extension of the kitchen. -our “games room” (ping pong) will be in the finished basement. -my sense is that the family room is less formal than the living room and will be for relaxation and TV watching. Maybe incorporating a desk. -I could switch the family and dining but it would be an awfully large dining room that wouldn’t get much use as it’s just 2 of us most of the time. The addition will have large windows across the back. Lots more light than the room now labeled family. Planning a bench under the windows. Plus the new kitchen/dining will have a different floor from the rest of the house. If this helps and you have other ideas please share. Thanks again....See MoreLiving room layout: thoughts, ideas?
Comments (5)It looks like you could either do the chairs in the middle of the room, or you might be able to try apartment sized furniture and do a small sofa or love seat on the back wall and then two chairs flanking the fireplace as it looks like you currently have....See Moresprtphntc7a
