Comments (30)Lloyd, How are you going to "feed" the beast? The size of the opening on a single snowblower would be maybe 3' x 18"? (Remember I am an Aussie and now live in Cali... not much exposure to a snowblower) I was thinking, having seen some of your photos, that perhaps 4-6 blowers sequenced together might work for you. That way the feeding can be done with the big dumping-mchine-thingy you have (the bucket on the tractor). That would just be a welded axle basically I think. Then the chewed up stuff could go into a trough with an archimedes screw (or convayor belt) and be lifted straight into that cool screen thing you posted photos of a while back. If ya gonna make it mechanical, it's ALWAYS better if its BIGGER right? Peter...See More'set an alarm'--I want to invent a gadget
Comments (24)Mine is a Palm TX - top of the line (ie, last model they've made). It's normally $300, but I got mine second-hand from a seller on Amazon for half-price. :-) You can get a lesser one though and still get all the alarms...I installed a calendar program called Datebk6 that works with the native (already there) databases, but is a much more "robust" program for scheduling and such. It shows my "To Do" list right in my calendar (instead of just separately with the reg. to do's), and has this cool tool called "floating events" that you create, and they just keep floating from one day to the next until you check them off. Nice for things that I don't really have time scheduled for, but I want to get them done if I do have time. The "normal" palm apps don't let you set separate alarm sounds for calendar events, but this Datebk program does (it costs just under $30 to register, but will still work even if you never register it - it just starts "nagging" you to register after 45 days). I do plan to register it next month. Then I downloaded the sound files as one program for free to add on. You can color-code events, set repeating events for almost any day/week/month combination, and set templates so you don't have to enter the same event over and over if it occurs again, but not enough to be repeating. And of course it has catagories and you can set up separate calendars for separate people, etc. - kind of as complex or as simple as you want it to be. You can download earlier versions if you want smaller files to fit on something simpler like a Z22. I guess the T models run the latest version just fine though. If you wanted a "smartphone", Palm makes several of those too - you could go to thier web site and see if anything interests you. Handspring pda's come with the Palm OS too, if I recall correctly. Datebk does make a version for Pocket Pc's as well, so all that to say that you'll be able to run it on pretty much anything you buy. It's pretty much guaranteed to work on any mobile device, because it uses those built-in databases already installed. And now I sound like a commercial, so I'll shut up (and no, I have no monetary interest in any of the aforementioned companies, aside from what *I* am paying/have paid *them*). :-)...See MoreI want to invent........
Comments (13)A spam filter for Jerod commercials, the Duggars, the 4timeFelon and Miss Piggy (not the Muppet - the cackling, racist, yeowlin' hawg), etc, that just doesn't allow them on so you don't even have to turn the channel to not put up with them. A "fire" button on the steering wheel for idiot drivers. A brightness control on people to turn up the common sense. A remote control shocker for weather forecasters when they promise 80ð (or whatever) and then make 5 minute excuses to try to wave off responsibility. Wouldn't be activated if they came right out and said "I blew it". Maybe a pie in the face? Same shocker should be used on broadcasters with their stupid teasers like "Will we have tornadoes this afternoon? I'll tell you tonight at 10!", "Coming up next/Still to come, _____" (and it doesn't show until 20 minutes later. Oh there's so many things the shocker should remedy. And not really an invention but I'd like to hire a monkey to watch the yard when people walk their dogs to do their duty on my yard instead of theirs. Once they walk away from it, the monkey would go fling the feces at them. An extra banana if you hit them in the head and 5 extra bananas if you hit them in the ear....See MoreFloof- Little things you do for yourself that make you happy
Comments (45)Same as Amy....I don't deny myself anything if I want it and have the money. I do give consideration to whether or not I really need it, and sometimes I talk myself out of things....like another horse. I like going to thrift shops, auctions, yard sales, etc. My waterlilies and contemplating new ones that I want, and crosses that I want to make. Antique rose cuttings and planning for new ones and getting together with the Rose Rustlers to share cuttings. I eat what I want, when I want it. I don't diet or worry about gaining weight. I like sleeping with three or four of my cats. Walking with three of my dogs...the ones that mind the best and will stay right with me or immediately come back when I call them. I have wanted to walk in the Nati'l. Forest, and now that hunting season is over, I plan to do that...just hope I don't get lost like I did a couple of weeks ago, when I thought I was taking a short cut home, and ended up deep in the forest and stuck in the mud...at 9:30 at night with a dying phone and no flashlight. I enjoy my old horses and seeing them thrive, because almost all of them came from situations of severe neglect. I love when nothing is planned, no one is coming around, and I can spend the whole day by myself and just drift around the place, looking at the waterlilies, roses, fish, going to the old barn and seeing the bats in the hay loft. Fixing nice meals for my wild possums. Listening to my radio guy, who comes on twice a day....See More- 7 years ago
