Comments (2)Your English is great. Depending on where the plant is presently located you might want to move it to a brighter location and give it a small amount of water. Don't overwater it. You can increase the amount of water as it gets larger. Comments (2)Fall blooming is triggered by strange weather patterns. It is more prevalent in certain varieties and in fact is exploited in bloom-a-thon and encore azaleas. The fall blooms are using up what would normally be next spring's flowers. Some causes of fall blooming include a dry summer and moist fall and/or warmer climates including a warm fall. For some reason, fall blooming is more common in Georgia according to Dr. Sandra McDonald. Plants which are not sufficiently hardened off or are exposed to unseasonable warm spells can start bloom prematurely. These blooms are seldom satisfactory and many times get frozen before opening fully. In any case, the seasonal bloom is lost. Avoid application of nitrogen after late spring, but phosphorus and potassium may be applied during the growing season. Application of nitrogen too late in the season can hinder hardening off in the fall and cause this problem....See MoreTry, try again! Garden pics - 2
Comments (6)Thanks Sierra. I thought later that that was probably what happened. I had been on PB yesterday making a new album. Northspruce: Gladys Campbell is my only double. I thought I didn't like doubles but I bought her to try and see how it was. When I bought her I was told she doesn't always come up double but she always has for me, I've had her for 2 years. The picture doesn't really show the full double, she gets fuller as she gets older. I think I may just have to get some more doubles!...See MoreLet's try this again...First Blooms of the Season
Comments (11)Thanks everyone! I had to open a Photobucket account. For some reason Snapfish wasn't working for me anymore. Yes, I do love my reds!! Even though you are so right Seil. Nearly impossible to get the shades of red to show up correctly. But for as much as I love my reds, I think Denali is taking the cake for me too right now. I'll take a few more pics this evening for you guys now that Denali is opening up. It's breathtaking! Thanks so much for all the encouraging words. And don't worry, I've got about 60 newbies this year. There will be PLENTY of pictures!!...See Morehoosier_nan (IN z5b/6a)
