air ducts in concrete slab...would you avoid buying a home

We are looking at a contemporary home built in 1982 that is on a slab. The air ducts are built into the slab. We have lived in several homes with slabs but the duct work was always in the ceilings. We have done some initial research and it seems like there could be a lot of concerns with this. The owner already said that the gas line was re-routed because of a leak in the line that was installed in the slab. Re-routing the air ducts would probably cost a lot.

Would you just avoid buying a home like this?
