Janette I would get what you and your DH will be the most comfortable on. If you get the sofa with a chaise on each end you still can do the two swivel chairs in the room for additional seating when you have the kids over. also if you do an upholstered coffee table / ottoman the grands can lounge on that too. Be back with some visual ideas.

@ ShadyWillowFarm We tried to place the longer reclined against the longer wall (beside the shelf of games) but we were not able to recline all the chairs that way. So we swapped them and now all the chairs can be reclined. But who really needs to recline them all at once anyways. I like your ideas especially the second pic. I agree a larger cabinet like that will provide more storage. I will look into that.

I had hired people that were supposedly professionals to hang art. I did not know if that was too high. I will have to see if I can hire someone else come back to rehang them. thank you for the advice on the wall pictures. Yes, I have my dining table moved there only bc i am having my kitchen redone and I had to move it away from the dining room. Normally that dining set would not be there, it would be empty. That is the location I would like the chaise lounge chair or the barrel and I would move the sofa chair on the opposite side.

So...you dont have a house? And you dont have land? Someone down the street did exactly that. Then they lived in it a while, then built the rest. So yeah...doable. As for cost, talk to a builder. Someone in the neighborhood said theirs was 200k 8 years ago. Not including land. But that number means nothing.
