Downstairs AC down and out. Should I run the upstairs?

Hi,

First time posting. I have an AC unit that is out for the count (symptoms point to a Freon leak) and is getting serviced tomorrow. I have shut the downstairs unit off until it gets repaired.

I want to leave the upstairs unit on for the kids. It feels pretty good up there right now and is cycling close to normal. Luckily, it’s not super hot in Northwest Arkansas, and is scheduled to be high 70s tomorrow, thank God.

Am I damaging the upstairs unit by running it solo? It is slightly smaller than the downstairs unit. I know the cold air will sink down the narrow staircase and may make it cycle more often than normal. Just want to make sure I’m not creating an additional issue.

Thanks!
