Comments (6)Lisa, oh Lisa, darling where are you? sent you an e-mail. what nice present do you have for the groundhog. the neighborhood is infested with them this year. I'm worried about fungus on my toms again this year. At the rate the weather is going though, there may be more to worry about than that. Like nothing is going to grow cause the rain won't stop and temps won't warm up. Geez, they say by friday in the mid 80's humid and finally some sun. the plants won't get a chance to dry out before the humidity hits them. Still got tons of stuff to get in the ground. Fran...See MoreSome more pics from June 17th

Comments (11)Carol...no newspaper under the straw/dry grass clippings. I worked hard at eliminating weeds the first year I made the beds before planting in them the following year. Amazing since the strip bed faces an abandoned field with a ton of weeds plus the nextdoor neighbor and her garden full of weeds that go to seed every single year I've been here!! I've also made real fast beds (like I done this spring)making sure to remove all traces of Quack Grass rhizomes) and mulching from the get go to prevent any weed seed germination....See MoreA few more iris blooming for June 22
Comments (5)Marg, Trail's End had an early season to which is now all done. Mine usually go until abot the first week in July with a few of the stragglers. The bed that is blooming now are all the newest ones witht heir maiden blooms. Lots of surprises. They don't get as much sun as my south house bed.And because it is late in the season and finally decided to get warm, they are not lasting more than a day! Strange all round..... My daylilies won't start till late July probably. Peonies are not good this year. Really odd weather too but other reasons for mine in particular this year. My sob story.....
