Has anyone here and do you think I can??????
Comments (12)Yes, you can do it yourself. There are most likely places you can look for instructions on the internet to do it better than the way I did it, but my way worked just fine. I did it before I owned a computer. Good luck. I don't know if I did it correctly or not and it's been a few years ago so I hope I'm remembering correctly. First I measured exactly the size of sheetrock needed. When I cut it I think I left the paper or backing maybe a half of an inch larger than the hole. I took some strong thread, probably quilting thread, and used a needle to run a length of the thread through the sheetrock leaving about 12 inches of thread hanging from the front of the sheetrock. I did this in the middle and close to each corner. Make sure it is knotted on the back of the sheetrock. I pushed the sheetrock into the hole until the backing was in and the sheetrock was snug using the thread pieces to pull it toward me as needed. After that I cut the thread and caulked around the edge and sanded til smooth once the caulk was dry. It didn't take too long. After I painted over it I couldn't tell that a hole had ever been there. Comments (13)"A tradition at my DDs college is a dancing around the maypole nude on May 1st. Most of the kids watch, not too many dancers and maybe only topless. My daughter thinks only weird people take part." Oh, that's only a ritual that was documented by the Romans when they invaded Britain, IIRC, although I can't lay hands on the reference now. No big deal. It was revived in the Sixties. Many campus Pagan groups now get permission to organize and perform the ritual, unless stomped on by the "my religion is better than your religion" types - done properly it's a very intricate dance that takes practice. Some choose to perform this worship event fully "skyclad", others choose not to. Even though I'm an adult, pushing forty, and look more like Kathy Bates than Kathy Ireland, I've stripped off for a couple of Maypoles. Tends to still be pretty chilly in New Hampshire on Beltaine (May 1, one of the main holy days of the year) though so I prefer to dance cloaked or drum for the dancers if I'm not physically up to it. But then, I admit rather proudly to being a "weird person"!...See MoreHas anyone here taken a glass bead class?
Comments (4)I live in So. Jersey--which at one time, was a huge center for the glass industry. Now, there are a lot of high-end glass artists still around. One community college has a glass program--they teach both art and commecial glass working. A few years ago, I took a Pate de Verre workshop there from a very well-known artist. In between our P d V projects, she showed us how to make glass beads. It was a lot of fun. Wish it didn't take so much heavy duty equipment to do glass work--I'd have my own shop at home!...See MoreHas anyone on here built the Frank Betz Jefferies and Bowman Plans?
Comments (2)Save yourself money and a headache by NOT BUYING STOCK PLANS ONLINE. These plans fail to take into account your actual lot and your home needs. You'll spend more money and time altering these plans that you would if you hired an architect....See Moremartinca_gw sunset zone 24
