This one is a slow grower for me but this 3rd or 4th year shows great promise. Apple fragrance is stronger than Awakening.

Also it blooms after Boscobel is finished (right in the bed) and setting new buds!

I'd buy this rose just for the name, but the flower is gorgeous! However, I think you can grow anything! : ))

When I grew this one, the flowers had about a third the number of petals as yours, very faint fragrance, and it was very black spotty (when black spot doesn't really exist in this climate). Like almost all the roses I've removed, I sometimes wonder what would have happened if I had kept it a few more years. Especially when I see them looking as good as yours!

Until the summer heat hits, njmomma. Thanks, everyone. I love that rose so much I might have to get one myself. It's quite large, too. The dark pink rose is Yves Piaget, which she almost yanked last year because it was balling. You all talked her out of it, and this year it is doing beautifully. By next year it should be stunning. Beautiful pics Totoro! I love the japanese maple in the background with the pink roses in front. I have 3 small plants of Guy de Maupassant waiting to go in the ground...two from Northland and the other from Roses Unlimited. I had to have them after I saw this hedge of them at the Portland Rose Garden last summer.

I have one from Roses Unlimited, and it is a slow growing rose for me as well.. Hope to see her in full glory next spring .. your garden is beautiful. : )

Yes he does blackspot, but does not completely defoiliate.
