All of these are great deals! But I may have gotten the deal of a lifetime. Last year after Christmas I was in a big box store when several TC caught my eye. Of course I was hoping for an after Christmas deal and I found one. I brought a plant over to the cashier and asked the price. Her voice and face shower great surprise "2 cents!" There were 8", 6", and 4" pots. I'm not going to tell you how many I bought for my 56 cents! Talk about a problem trying to sneak them into the house without DH catching on. They are beginning to bloom again now. Karen

Wonderful thread, Bobby... see what your Banana Bread experience has spawned. Glad to know I'm not alone. My brothers, I'm sure, would have several "bizzo meals" to mention, as I like ingredients more exotic for their tastes (like mushrooms in my spaghetti sauce) but I think my worst was the first I served my now DH... One of my brother's had given me a variety of flavored vinegars asa Christmas present... one a "Salsa Vinegar" that I'd never tried before. I made a vinaigrette dressing, and the new BF (now DH) had forced down several bites of his salad (good boy, taught to clean his plate) before I got to my first one. One bite and I immediately removed the salad bowls from the table with "you do not have the eat this!!" It was HOT, and awful... DH says it took several more meals before he trusted that I really can cook!! LOL

I garden not far from NHBabs, the colder edge of zone 5. Last night we had a Confection kabocha squash from Johnny's. It was so sweet! Unfortunately, Johnny's is replacing it with a "better" variety. I also like Delicata for an easy winter squash for 2 people. I don't care too much for the butternut varieties except there's a Baker's Creek Long neck butternut that was an excellent keeper. Didn't have the great flavor of Confection but I would grow it again. Favorite zucchini is Costata Romanesco, a striped variety. Productive and great flavor. Any swiss chard after it gets cold in the fall. We liked Provider Bush green beans until I started growing the filet varieties. Good production. I agree with Sugar Snap. They might get 7' tall and production is great. I've tried other varieties and don't get the same production. Tyee spinach planted as early as possible. Gilfeather Turnip, nice flavor but I think it's really a white rutabaga. Decided I like Hakurei turnips. Was surprised that they grew very well even though I hadn't thinned them probably. I had clusters of turnips. I really liked Fedco's Fingerling sampler except for the blue potatoes. I thought our grandchildren would love them but we can't get past the blue color. And this is supposed to be a very nutritious variety! Carmen for a frying pepper that usually turns red.

I think Tide Coldwater prior to HE Turbo is my favorite. It cleaned great, smelled incredible, and left clothes looking new. However However, it did suds a lot. The HE Turbo version changed scent to the Original and was not significant after the release of Ultra Stain Release. The current Tide Ultra Stain Release and Tide Advanced Oxi are killer! Though I prefer if it had Cellulase. Honorable mention: Ariel All-in-1 Pods A good array of enzymes including Phosphodiesterase which breaks down body grime. It would be better if it were in a liquid form.
