Hello how are you? can you please share with us the spaces you want to decorate in order to know what is the best decoration style that will fit in that place. Some times it is better vintage, classic or modern style. There are a lot of options in the market.

I'm a high ceiling fan, but I think 20' is too tall (my ceilings will be 16' and pitched.) If you insist on having 20' ceilings, you've got to find a way to bring the scale down so the the space feels good with regular-sized furniture. Here's an example of a home that I toured about 15 years ago with an 18' ceiling. Trusses, clerestory windows, large pendant lighting, the flanking doors, and the way the stone divides the wall all help make the height less overwhelming. I saw this room furnished with large scale sofas/tables/rugs and everything worked together nicely. I believe the room is 16' to 18' wide. Some folks will pooh-pooh high ceilings as impractical, more expensive (which they are) or plain stupid (it depends); however, for those of us who love them, it's just a matter of getting the details right. Consult a professional; otherwise you may end up with a disaster.

I like the pattern of the first one better. Both of them are too deep and grand for the size of room and style of house. If you like a detailing on the ceiling, perhaps consider a much shallower detail. An inch or two vs how deep the ones in the pics are. Maybe look into ceiling medallions- and do a grand trimwork around the borders to compliment the medallion. If you wanted, you might be able to find a metal worker to do a ceiling art install. Or have a painter do a paint detailing.

Talked to builder the reason there is drywall space on the 2 story great room between the windows is because the roof overhang with the covered deck would not allow them to add more than 2 smaller windows in the mid drywall area. As it is now we will have 4 3x6 windows near the ceiling and 4 3x6 closer to floor. A suggestion was add 1 foot transoms to windows closer to the floor but theres no room to add them to the windows closer to the ceiling. So the choice is leave alone as they are now drywall space will be approx 3 and a half feet or add transoms lower windows only and have 2 and a half drywall feet. What would look best ? These sre the only options unless we centered 2 smaller windows in middle of drywall which im not sure about. Need to give them answer mondayI say. please help. thank you!
