Our Westerland rose and Clematis garden, before and after clean-u
Comments (7)Thank you. I didn't touch the Rose or Clematis, except to remove two errant rose canes. That Salvia got much larger than indicated on the plant tag and I am learning to expect that and plan for at least an additional 1-2 feet in each direction, with our year-long growing season and rich clay soil. Now I am on the hunt for waterwise plants for the foreground....See MoreBack Garden before/after...
Comments (32)WOW ,Kathy that Reve de'Or is gorgeous. The area over the carport gets late afternoon sun only so will look and see what else they have. I have purchased all but 2 of my roses from them and have had wonderful luck. All are thriving but one...Le Marque and I believe that was all my fault that it passed on . Thank you for the suggestions. How long has that been in the ground?? Please don't tell me only a year...:) Glenda...I have lots of folks that say they would love to live out there. It is fixed up very nicely inside but no bathroom ...you could always hike into the house...:) You are such a sweet one. I think you should go under the Google images and look to see what others have done...try farmhouse / pergola and also go to Lowes etc and look at pics in their books. I bet you can get a design that will look great. Thank you Barb...I never got the seeds you sent planted...sigh...I am the worst sometimes with procrastination. I am so glad you used the brick edging and that your neighbor is planning it too. I redid some as it was not as good as it had been. Planning on adding some along the brick path in the back to control the mulch that the rain pushes out. Diana...you are so kind. I love your gardens and have always aspired to roses such as you have...I can dream can't I ??? You watch and see what I get growing...you can bet I will be asking for help. THANK YOU ALL !! It is such a joy to post to you. c...See MoreBefore and After of Garden
Comments (27)WOW! Thanks so much for all you kind comments. It really has amazed me how much everything grew.Especially noticeabel when I came back from 3 weeks in the states. I don't know if it is all the light we get here in the summer but eveything has grown much faster that I anticipated.I am going to have do some moving around next Spring! I don't really need all that lawn do I? It is my retreat in the city.I have always gardened since I was a kid but never have had a plot of land of my own to do what I want. This has fit the bill nicely. Next year is year 3 which is leap year--I can't wait!!! This post was edited by stoc on Fri, Aug 15, 14 at 12:41...See MoreBefore and After Pics of My Former Garden
Comments (37)Thanks carol!! I'm a fast reader & not everyone is so many get annoyed with my long texts. My fiancé the most- lol- it means a lot to have your help! I'll let u know when I post my projects. I'll prob post all at once to give an idea of where I'm at. Then, start with one project. I need a day or so to get it all together. Also, I can't stand to say but I have severe adult adhd & don't take meds for it bc I'm a recovering addict. I have to work with it, which will definitely show ( if it hasn't already- lol ) once I start posting my plans, wishes & projects. It is extremely hard, close to impossible for me to stick to one project & work only on it until it's finished bc then, my mind can't see the whole picture plus, my body won't allow it. It's a terrible character defect I have & challenging when I'm gardening but I do get things completed :) I'll prob name the thread *My Florida garden projects* or something Like that - your right , It does take time & is extremely rewarding :) I enjoy gardening & landscaping! I have no experience or background in it besides my own personal trial n error. I'm just a junkie that loves flowers! 18 mo in par helped me kick the habit & 6 years later gardening plays a big role in keeping me clean! My passion started w/1 thought. My thought was, how come everytime I buy a beautiful flowering plant, I kill it . This thought drove me to learn all I could ab gardening & started my passion. I've learned so much since then & still learning . I live, eat & breath gardening! Its exciting & rewarding. I learn something new everyday. It's a passion I keep close to my heart bc it helps keep me clean & humble on a daily basis & Im thankful for that...See Morecallirhoe123
