My Best Mother's Day Present Ever...

turns 40 this Mother's Day. He lives in NYC, and is celebrating big with friends this month. They had a birthday weekend with his best friend from college coming down from Boston with her family, among others. Then he and his friend fly off to Paris for a week on Tuesday. When they return, several friends from college, law school, etc. are joining up for a camp out in Acadia National Forest to celebrate too. Hope they have good weather.

He was my pistol at delivery time--he turned around the day before I went into labor and was breech. The old doctor I had knew how to turn him around just by gently placing his hands on my abdomen. It was an uneventful delivery after all. He has always been a nonconformist.

My BEST Mother's Day present was third son, born on Mother's Day May 8, 1977. He called me today to wish me an early Happy Mother's Day.

I like Goober. It gets an interesting little textured effect on the leaves. I like the name too. I believe it likes more sun. I have two. One planted in morning sun only while the other gets more sun. The one in more sun has grown better. I picked up Popo this year too. I like the name and I love my minis.

My son's b/day is also today and he said that, with a toddler and one on the way, he has a new appreciation for motherhood. The best is that he said how fortunate he feels to have everything he ever hoped for and counts his blessings every day. It doesn't get any better than that!

My DD's boyfriend turned 35 today, Mother's Day. My35th anniversary is next week and I joke that if I want we can't remember the date, we just have to ask how old he is.

I asked if he was born on MOther's Day but he didn't know. I told him his Mom would be able to answer.

I erred. My Mother's Day baby turns 40 on the 13th, and my older son turned 43 the day before on the 12th, this year's Mother's Day. But it was the younger one who was born on Mother's Day. My 43 year old became a father 7 weeks ago. He has a new appreciation what I and his sister have gone through raising babies!
