Do you agree with DH?
Comments (24)hmm. maybe you're right. We could go two shades darker than Quiet Moments, the exact match, which would be Mount Saint Anne. I love that color as well and that might satisfy DH. ;-) There is texture in the quilt, the stripes in the sheets. I could add texture with accessories. I was thinking of doing mercury glass or some sort of silver table lamps on the end tables. The problem is the walls slant in, so I can't hang art on any of the 3 outside walls. The walls add interest though - here is the master bedroom with 1 coat of paint to give an idea Only the straight wall can have anything hanging, and it will likely be a mirror over the dresser. There is hefty woodwork around the dormers and a high baseboard to add interest. But they are white....See MoreDo you think Alexandria Beige is too dark for a master bedroom?
Comments (5)I have it in our master bath and the undertones go slightly green...........? It's a definite color, but if you have full sun it would be beautiful, while being cozy and lovely at night. Buy a quart and paint out part of a wall to see. I have LA Gold #3 in the bedroom and the AB in the adjoining bath. Red...See MoreDo you agree that this house has 'lots of natural sunlight?'
Comments (28)Lol. The listing agent of the home you bought is certainly more inspired than most. As for how sunny that original home is, need to know north, south, east, west and latitude, with which rooms where. But I suspect it's accurate enough. Note that the living room has good windows on at least two sides, not one (bigly important!). Also that as you look around the active living areas your eyes tend to continue on out windows, such as those in the far kitchen/dining corner, instead of crashing to a stop on some dark wall. This is also really big for making a home feel both light and large. "Feel" being an important issue here. Didn't check the trees, but deciduous stop the heat waves before they his the house-box and turn it into an oven-box in the summer, and then they drop and let sunshine and warmth through for a good half of the year in many regions. As an appraiser, aside from location-location-location, of course (which could also include the kind of stunning views common in the west), I never saw any single factor more promising for a good sale than lots of natural light because of well placed windows that don't have to be kept covered for privacy. Something that made a lot of potential buyers rethink their must-have lists right then and there....See MoreAre my curtains too dark? Do they fit with the other furniture?
Comments (10)What I did was to purchase a good looking woven chest that had a cover. I took out the back of it and carefully put in all the cables and boxes, then I placed it in front of the outlets, put a nice piece of sculpture on it and the problem was solved. What color are your drapes,it's hard to tell. Replacing them with a lighter choice would make the room brighter and then add some art pieces with soft colors and it would really look super....See Moregtcircus
