Need help finding the right rug!
Comments (11)I wasn't really going for monochromatic but if that looks good I'll take it. I'm actually not a fan of the colored pillows, they just came with the sofa. I'll probably change them out once I find a rug. Does anyone think a mustard yellowish (like in the curtains) will look good?...See MoreReally need help with curtains and rugs for my greatroom
Comments (4)There is nothing wrong with the area rug you have now, although I wish it were longer so that the front legs of the red chair were on the rug. It would make the room more cohesive. A runner in the hall does not need to match the living room rug, and honestly I wouldn't want a runner with that much cream color in it. You could get one that is predominately red, for example. I would like to see a third color brought into the room. Take a close look at all the colors in the rug. I see what looks like a sage green. There is a darker color; is it maybe navy blue? Navy would be a nice addition to the room. Would you consider having the ivory colored chair reupholstered? For the windows, you could do stationary panels in ivory with some red. What is your budget for draperies? In a previous house, I had panels with red above and gold below that were beautiful, but they were custom made....See MoreHelp! Comments (19)Lovely fabric and curtains : ) . The green in the Sanderson fabric appears to have a yellow undertone, so it's more of a warm green than a cool green. You just have to decide if you want to be cocooned by purple, green, pink, or a shade of brown in the fabric. I would probably choose a warm mossy green. Consider switching out the lamps for something like this, https://www.homedepot.com/p/Safavieh-Pamela-27-in-Fern-Green-Triple-Gourd-Ceramic-Lamp-Set-of-2-LIT4095G-SET2/204848638 https://www.homedepot.com/p/Safavieh-Pamela-27-in-Dark-Purple-Triple-Gourd-Ceramic-Lamp-Set-of-2-LIT4095K-SET2/204848641 https://www.homedepot.com/p/Safavieh-Eva-24-in-Dark-Purple-Double-Gourd-Glass-Lamp-Set-of-2-LIT4086K-SET2/204848533 https://www.homedepot.com/p/Safavieh-Eva-24-in-Fern-Green-Double-Gourd-Glass-Lamp-Set-of-2-LIT4086G-SET2/204848530 More styles here in those two different colors, https://www.homedepot.com/b/Lighting-Lamps/Safavieh/Green/Purple/N-5yc1vZc7pdZ4kxZ1z0tup6Z1z0tvne?NCNI-5 I'd also consider simplifying what's over the bed. One larger print/picture or mirror rather than two smaller, busy ones. A large print playing off the curtains might be nice -- perhaps a botanical with an amaryllis or a pomegranate, or one with a parrot. A cheap way to do it is to get a book like this, https://www.amazon.com/Botanical-Prints-Hortus-Eystettensis-Selections/dp/0810927438/ref=sr_1_6?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1514338517&sr=1-6&key and then find an inexpensive mat and frame; best would be a mat as wide as possible with a frame as big as possible....See MoreNeed help coordinating curtain with chair fabric and rug!
Comments (8)This is so much easier when you provide us with all the naturally coordinating fabrics so that we know we're in your price range. https://www.fabric.com/find?brands-and-designers=magnolia-home-fashions&colorfamily=blue-and-white I would have started with a rug first, but now that you have your draperies being fabricated, I would select #4 for the seats on your chairs. I wouldn't place an area rug on top of that thick carpet. I would recommend the carpet be replaced with hardsurface flooring and then an area rug selected. Since your fabric design is a batik style, I would two tone your wall paint. Here are some computer generated paint colors that coordinate with the fabric....See MoreTreesa
