Comments (16)Our apartment in Thailand required us to insert our key card in this slot to turn on the lights to the premises. When we left the apartment, we took the key card with us and when it was removed from the slot, the lights and the A/C were turned off. The light switches and A/C wouldn't work unless the key was inserted in the slot...with this set up, there is no way to waste electricity by leaving lights and/or the A/C on when tenants aren't home. There were also many buildings that had escalators that didn't run until someone stepped on them in order to go to another floor. I loved it. When we came home from the show we had a piece of the rhubarb pie that daughter had brought with her when she picked me up. Loved the pie too. Yes, I know, I am weird, a lot of people don't like rhubarb!

Caflowerluver, thanks for the reminder to cook the artichokes that I bought at the farmers' market! The ones we bought have long stems, and I always cook and eat the stems, but I do peel them.
