A few days ago, I dug a hole for a hosta transplant. Today, the hole, is filled with water from last night’s rain. I didn’t realize the water wasnt draining well here.

Two springs ago this bed was rototilled. I have a hard time keeping on top of the gardening projects because i have a very large yard. I get occasional help, but it’s mostly just me.

I’ll wait for this to dry up before I put in the hosta and maybe add some mushroom compost. Should I add something else?

the only plants in this bed are daylily and hosta, around the corner are white hydrangea, hosta, daylily, and a new groundcover.

this is the front walk, so the bed is sandwiched between the sidewalk and the garage foundation.

i wasnt going to put mulch in, but I think year I will lay down newspaper and mulch. I’m sick of weeding and would like to enjoy my garden better.

Im having trouble getting my post to go through proper.

Zone 5. This side faces east, morning Sun.
