Should I be happy with this shower tile job?
Comments (17)The start to answer this question is can we see the contract. Sometimes we are quick to point fingers and make comments without having all the evidence. Who made the selections?Who did the preparations to tiled surfaces? Who constructed the framing? What research was done by the customer to determine the selection and the professionals they selected? What was the primary factor for the selections. Was cost or budget a driving factor? Was the job rushed because of project deadlines? Where there problems and delays cause by suppliers and other people involved with the project? Before coming to a conclusion get the facts....See MoreHELP tile is botched....now what do I do?????
Comments (45)I thought the caulk was suppose to go at the transition points. So I am thinking there should be caulk instead of grout at the place where the tile meets the tub and where the tile meets the window and where the tile meets the wall. So is this just desiable or best or necessary? Also they still have to pull the tile off and redo the soap niche......How should this be done so it will look right? Also the grout color is not exactly what I had in mind....it has not been sealed yet....in fact has not been completely filled in is some places.. see previous pics for some of the bubbles/cracks. What has to be done to fix the cracks/bubbles? Should it all be taken out and redone? If so then I guess i could get the color corrected when they re-do it. If the needed bubble/cracks just have to have grout schwished in and then sealed....then is it better to put the color change product mentioned previously on before it is sealed?...See MoreBotched shower floor
Comments (17)STOP!!!!! The liner you show is supposed to be behind the cement board. This is not a tile setter. 100% Clueless. Hope you have some in progress photo's of the floor. I wouldn't trust that installation one bit. What is under the floor tile? Couldn't even make a L cut at the corner of the vanity. Tub would be installed after the waterproofing and tile. Cement boards are NOT waterproof. This will not end well. https://www.ceramictilefoundation.org/homeowners-guide-to-hiring-qualified-tile-installer...See MoreCountertop Fabrication Botch Job - What Would you do?
Comments (4)The answers to all your questions is yes. But next time, please do your homework on the company that you choose to do the work. There’s a lot of jack legs out there and it appears you found one. Ask for references and he offers to put you in contact with say 2 of his clients to check his work, ask to see at least 10. Hope you had a contract specifying exactly what was to be done and any recourse available to you. And make sure their licensed and insured. Hope this can be resolved without a mountain of stress and frustration for you....See More- 5 years ago
