How do I put my plant zone next to my name?

I've put it in Your Houzz, Edit profile, Settings, About me. and also from that page on the left went to Advanced and put it (after scrolling way down) in Climate Zone for Garden Forums

Well, now I have it twice. Think I'll stop while I'm ahead. And thanks all for your help and especially NHBabs you were very clear and stayed with me till I got it!

Well, it is showing up with your name, (9 Gulf Coast) so you must have done something right! :^)

It is showing up now :-) But likely only to those who sign in via Garden Web. To be visible to all regardless of how they access the site, you need to include it as part of your username as well.

One of the many remaining glitches in integrating the two platforms :-)

Thank you. I'll wait until spring then because I have a lot on my plate now and will until frost. I don't have to do it all at once or disturb all the plants, will see how it goes. It should be a little easier to tell where to split in the spring.

Its a very nice needle palm! I think its a great size for $2 dollars so although it may be a little small, it was worth the price. I havent had luck with asking home depot to ship certain plants. I actually went to a home depot away from my location and asked if they could ship a plant to my location, but they said they couldnt and all of their plant shipments are random for the most part. -Alex

I suppose one could chastise you for all of the things you have done wrong, but you asked for advice so I will throw in my two cents. You were (are) in a marriage that is failing and you are choosing to put that failure all on yourself - stop right there. Neither one of you was putting your full effort into the situation. He doesn't follow through with his promises to land a job and then won't follow you to your next job? He needs to stay with/follow you. There is no reason for him to stay behind (no job and your daughter is not in school, yet). Yeah, you cheated. And he is taking advantage of that instead of trying to get things back on track. You are both at fault here. You both decided to 'take a break and see other people'? That is not marriage. And you allowed yourself to believe that the only job you could do is one that takes you away for weeks at a time. You both need to change careers - yours is actually a career change; his is getting off the couch. You need to think about what is best for your daughter. And that would be a stable home life. Not mom or dad gone for 6 weeks at a time. If the marriage does end, then you will surely be forced into a new career if you have any hopes of raising your daughter alone. Would that be so bad? To put your daughter over a career? Careers/jobs can come and go. Your daughter is not so expendable. Do what is best for her.

Like pdxgal, I've had my fridge and wall ovens next to each other for 20 years with no problem. I, too, don't want to change my electrical service for those appliances, so the new ones will occupy the same positions. That said, you should be sure to e-mail customer service of the company that manufactures your new refrigerator and ask what their policy is regarding ovens and refrigerators next to each other. GE customer service told me it would void the refrigerator warranty. KA customer service told me the warranty would still be in effect, but they recommended 3 inches between the appliances if it was possible. I am going with the KA built-in side-by-side, and I have their answer IN WRITING (love e-mail!) regarding this appliance issue. FYI: When I asked GE customer service by telephone whether their policy was "carved in stone", they said yes. But their own marketing brochures have at least two photographs where their ovens and fridges are right next to each other!

e.g. .... zone 5 is about half the US.. and wildly variable ... so a big city name is sometimes better ... actual location information ....

though in my case.. i am sure nobody knows anything about adrian MI .. lol ... [its about halfway between toledo and ann arbor ...]

so.. whatever you do.. add useful info ...

Click on My Houzz and choose Edit profile and settings. There is a section called Profile Information, and the first two blanks there are for your first name and last name (publicly displayed). If you add your location info and zone there as part of your name, it will show for readers regardless of whether they are signed in via Houzz or via GardenWeb. As it currently is, only those signed in via GW can see your location info, so folks like Ken who sign in via Houzz will be asking for that info.

Yes but with less detail. I find navigating some areas of Houzz to be a pain.

I can't change my name to add my zone. Houzz in its "infinite wisdom" has decided you can only change it twice a year! I had a lot of trouble getting in to my account and ended up changing my password -- which again Houzz has now decided that it must contain symbols as well as letters and numbers, It dredged up a very old account name and stuck _gw on it (for garden web). Getting to Houzza help was impossible for me. Sorry for the rant and being off topic, but I've not been happy since garden web joined up with Houzz. Just finding Name that Plant is difficult from Houzz's main page.

I see (9 Gulf Coast) after your name. Houzz can be frustrating at times but if all else fails you could put Name That Plant and any other forums you frequent here in your favorites on whatever device you use and access them that way. We would hate for anyone to leave because of the glitches.

I notice today the most recently answered threads are not popping up to the top automatically.

It isn’t your user name you want to change but your publicly displayed name in the second section down.
