Where to look for chandelier? What am I overlooking?
Comments (13)First of all, IÂm so impressed to have so many responses! It was the first thing I saw when I sat down here. Thank you! I will check these out. I love tiffany but already have a lot of stained glass lamps (kitchen, living room, and family room). I think I need to give that a rest. The light going THROUGH the glass is definitely colored, too, which I donÂt think IÂd like on the table. I need more neutral light focused there. The line of sight with the crystal chandelier in the foyer is an issue there, too. There is a nice $$ lighting store in my area where IÂve gone to browse. They donÂt use manufacturer stock numbers though: probably to prevent your looking it up and buying elsewhere. I donÂt know if that typical or not. I fell in love with a stained glass table lamp there and had to hunt all over google searching before I stumbled upon the manufacturer and ordered from them....See MoreFormal Dining Room
Comments (21)I love mlweaving's inspiration dining room. Even though the wall are navy, breaking it up with the white wainscotting is a great way to not have the color dominate the room. If the traditional height wainscotting shortens the visual height of the room, you could consider running it up to 2 ft below the ceiling height and then either painting or installing wallpaper above the rail like in these photos....See MoreWhat color paint? Comments (11)Thanks everyone! We are installing hardwood throughout the entire downstairs. The revere pewter is actually through french doors off of both rooms but you can't really see itwell from either room so I am not so worried about that going with the other rooms as much. It is mainly this view I want to flow well. I considered van cortland blue for the formal living room but it might be too dark/bold for me. I tend to be more neutral/conservative when decorating. And yes I love the yarmouth blue but don't think I want it everywhere. It looks perfect in the dining room....See More1st floor lighting plan - help please!!
Comments (16)Jennifer, I would as I suggested above look into recessed lighting for the kitchen. There are lots of electricians who offer a package deal to install lets say 6 cans in your space. I would not flush mount in kitchen unless it has 3 bulbs and is pretty nondescript, you could go semi flush just keep it pretty simple as you have a lot of fixtures in a row right there. As to the chrome and satin .... most people will not even pick up on that especially b.c most of the fixture is fabric. The fixtures I chose are a great price too! I mixed the chrome and black for the entry so you could get a little bit of both, I would suggest going a bit larger there and maybe hanging it a tad higher so it lines up with the bottom of the window, little more drama and it will look pretty through the window when lit....See Morejennycoop
