redbud tree leaves turning yellow with brown spots
Comments (11)regardless of where you live.. didnt fall start last week??? and it was recently transplanted ... and its a largish plant ... its stressed ... and finally.. its a deciduous tree ... the stresses are making it shut down a bit early ... i am presuming this is a eastern redbud.. Cercis canadensis ....of which i am familiar... if not.. then my answer might change .... i only mean to point out that your use of a common name can lead to confusion .... so use of the latin name would make it specific .... one of the reasons trees are planted dormant ... is that you dont have leaves to worry about on deciduous trees .... or they are dormant on evergreen plants .... either way.. you usually just dont have to look at something like this.. and then worry ... anyway.. just water deeply and properly with near drying before repeating ..... and see what happens .... see link on watering ... since it deciduous.. there is no use spraying anything on leaves that are going to fall off this time of year ... imo ... ken https://sites.google.com/site/tnarboretum/Home/planting-a-tree-or-shrub...See MoreMy almond tree leaves suddenly turned brown.
Comments (4)i suspect the wall is baking it .. retaining heat long into the night and therefore no .. or a reduced ... night time recovery period ... move it away from the wall .. and maybe even into shade for a week or two.. so the roots can restore some vigor to the plant ... i would also protect the pot from direct sun ... when it was grouped with its brothers at the nursery... the pots were probably together.. so only edge pots actually got direct sun on the pot ... or im wrong ... ken...See MorePotted fir tree turning brown
Comments (4)thats actually not bad at all for what it went thru .. at least you didnt call it a pine tree ... and its not a fir .... id call it an arb... or some close derivation therein ... all things good.. the new growth should come out just fine.. yours is just showing the stress of what you put it thru .. and the fact that you probably couldnt harden it off properly when you bodily thru it out the door in january ... that must have been a shock to the living tissue.. and this is the result of that ... thats a very tall tree for the pot its in ... presuming its going to live on your balcony.. you are probably going to have to figure out how to stay upright when it gets windy ... ken btw: interior browning is cyclical and annual.. and increased by many factors like drought.. bad winter.. etc... it is common.. as the plant ages.. to have to go in there.. and roughly remove all the brown carp inside .. and what you are seeing is part of that.. just sped up due to the stresses mentioned above ......See MorePeach Tree Branches Turning Brown
Comments (2)It wouldn't be unusual for young containerized trees to lose their foliage earlier than their counterparts in the landscape as they prepare for a dormant winter rest. That said, there is no way for us to take the measure of what effect, if any, cultural influences have had on leaf loss since you acquired the trees. I bought about a dozen trees last fall (Japanese quince, dwarf crab apple, evergreen pear, dwarf persimmon. All the trees arrived in MI from OR during the first week of Sep and all but the crab apples were bare of foliage within a week. All woke up in fine fettle this spring and prospered for the entire grow season. They have been knocked back by frost and lost their foliage about 6 weeks later than last year. I usually leave them on the ground under grow benches until they have shed their leaves, not moving them indoors to over-winter in my unheated garage until there is a threat of night temps dropping to 25*F or lower.
