LOOKING for: Grated Potato Cups
Comments (15)To post a picture in these forums it first has to be uploaded to a "picture sharing site" on the web. There is one at the GW forums. Up load your picture there and then insert the tag into the body of your posting here. The way I have always made a potato crust is to mix shredded potatoes with beaten egg and seasonings, press into either a buttered pie plate or muffin cups and bake about 20 minutes until browned. Fill and bake again...or in the case of a cold appetiser, cool and fill. I like to season the potatoes with a little grated onion then crumble a little crisp bacon, fill with soft scrambled eggs, top with cheese and bake until the cheese melts and all is hot. Comments (24)I'm grateful for the variety of ideas and opinions that people come up with here on the KT. Plus their general concern for one another. Sometimes when we hear the bases upon which an idea that we somewhat disagree with is based, we find that we have more in common than we thought in the beginning. It's easy to ask for, or promote, or pray for such a thing as, "Peace", for example. But "Peace" doesn't happen in a vacuum. It doesn't appear like a peach in midair. Peaches require a tree with roots, a trunk, branches and leaves in order to happen. If we don't have a root of justice, available to all, plus a trunk and branches of a yearning and search for understanding and the leaves of compassion ... ... we can cry, shout, pray or yearn for the peach of "Peace" all we like ... ... but we ain't a gonna get it! Good wishes as you do all of the necessary things through these closing days of the year. And, if Christmas is important to you, may you have a truly wonderful, happy and meaningful time, this year. ole joyful...See MoreI am grateful for:
Comments (13)Oddly enough, the power went out in my area last night as well. Was a nasty wet and kind of blustery day and evening so likely some tree close by lost a branch or fell and took out the lines. Not uncommon in my heavily wooded area :-) But also enjoy the benfits of a dedicated generator, which switched itself on in a matter of a few seconds. Power stayed off most of the night - woke me up when it came back on in the very early morning as all the appliances beep with the switch from generator to regular power. And I had left the hall light on..............See MoreI am grateful for…
Comments (17)Oh yes, I'm very thankful, for so many things, including my "imaginary friends" that I've made here and I'm thankful we're still here and cooking, canning, smoking, baking. I'm thankful that 2many is not cooking the cats, LOL, but not as thankful as they are! Today I'm busy being amazed at the nature of things. I've been starting my tomato plants, as well as peppers, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, all kinds of "starts". I see that tiny little tomato seed, tuck it into a nice warm bed of earth, step back and watch it grow. That one tiny little seed will grow a plant that will give me dozens of tomatoes with thousands of seeds, each with the potential of producing a plant and thousands more seeds. It always amazes me, I think of all the potential contained in that single, tiny seed. Baby chicks should be here by Thursday, more egg layers, and that always makes me wonder why the first person would think "that came out of a chicken's butt, I think I'll eat it". (grin) I'm thankful that I'm in a somewhat unique position to grow my own food and share that with my family, which I'm also thankful for. And I'm especially thankful for that anonymous person who first paid my $15 fee about 15+ years ago, so that I could stay a member of the Cooking Forum. Spike ran it then and at first it was free, then he started charging a fee to join. As a single mother, I couldn't afford $15 for something so frivolous and so regretfully gave up my "membership". Some wonderful and generous person paid my membership so I could stay and I've been here ever since. Annie...See Moremaire_cate
