Rob, John's message probably wasn't very helpful, he uses short sentences since he's not so great with punctuation. I think you'll find a pressure washer will do the trick...keep the pressure around 1,200 psi, use a white tip for a good fan, and keep the tip at least 6" from the wood. I suggest applying a good deck cleaning solution with a pump sprayer first, then let it soak for a few minutes before you pressure wash. Be careful about bleach solutions, they can be rough on the wood. I'd recommend cleaning on a test area first to determine how effective the solution will be, and to get comfortable with the pressure washer. Keep the nozzle moving. You need to watch out for "cutting" the wood with the pressure washer. You'll also need to keep a smooth pattern to avoid leaving streaks.

Great looking project Jim. I am in my final stages and looking to do some additional features like you have completed. What size material did you use on all of your cabinets and doors?

Thanks guys , Its been a long process from design till now just under a year in construction on a lot that drops 50 feet. I spent a year designing hers and her brothers in same neighborhood and putting together budgets and subs. The trim guys still have to finish the column details and one short post. We are waiting on the metal intermediate support posts that the cable will run through. We have gone back and forth on material and finish. Its looking like 1/2"x1 1/2" aluminium and powder coated. With those in hand and a few small decisions they will come back and complete it. I plan on capping all the posts to keep water /snow/birds etc out. Good catch though shows youre looking close! Hopefully in the next week or so it will be completed. The inside is being painted so hopefully 6 weeks and she can move in.

Tamara....I know this thread is old, but your kitchen is simply stunning! Are your cabinets Chantilly Lace? I read you kitchen delays and had to smile. I've lost weight and sleep over my darn remodel. Who knew how stressful this would be? If you used Chantilly Lace did you paint your ceiling the same. I just ordered my paint yesterday and I'm freaking out that it might be too bright.....
