Play taxi....drive the kid somewhere...

Watch their children at various events (sports, theatrical plays, etc).

Take photos of their child

Ask how was school/did they have a good day at school.

go looking for the wine bottle

feed their kids crap

Worry they are making parenting mistakes.

Wish they'd never had kids.

Wish someone else's kids were theirs instead of the kids they have.

Put their kids in a time out.

Cry.

Call their child by a sibling's name

Repeat something their parents said or did when they were kids. Like "If your friend jumps off the Brooklyn bridge are you going to jump, too?" or "There are kids in China that would be happy to eat that"

@georgysmom2 - When my siblings and I were young and in trouble my dad would sometimes say "You're up sh$t creek without a paddle." Fast forward many years and I'm a parent to two boys and yes they were in trouble and I heard my dad's phrase coming out of my mouth. My kids looked at me and just burst out laughing.

Well, all the most logical (to me) answers have already been guessed, so, remembering my days of raising a house full of boys, I'll guess something to do with meals.

They eat 'on the run', (grabbing a sandwich while taxiing a child to an activity).

They eat at unusual times of the day.

They eat standing up.

They depend more on take-out, pizza, etc.

Summers were always the most hectic!
