Paint over oil based stain (porch)

Amber

We stained our (covered) porch and hated it. I’ve always loved the look of a painted porch and I don’t at all mind scraping chipping paint. It’s been a few years since I used Cabot Australian Timber Oil in Jarrah Brown and it is mostly faded out in all the high traffic areas. My dilemma now is that it’s hard to find Oil-based exterior paints. I know I can use a primer, but I‘ve also read you shouldn’t use a primer for painting horizontal surfaces? I’ve washed porch with TSP/bleach and sanded it to about 80% wood. Would I use Kilz Original next then paint with a latex exterior? Or stick with trying to find an oil based exterior paint?
