Most people decide window materials based on climate and interior aesthetic preferences. I would agree that a standard aluminum profile would probably look out of place here.

Have you looked at any of the fiberglass windows?

For some reason , I ruled out fiberglass windows. It gets very hot in summer. Is it better than all Al or Al-clad?

Fiberglass does fine in the warmer temps. It all depends on what your measuring stick is and what is important. Fiberglass can be had with a wood interior so it does everything on an aesthetic level that clad wood does.

What is the advantage of doing fiber glass? My measuring stick was slim sightline but I don't think it will work with the house.

To me your house looks more modern than craftsman, and I think aluminum windows would be a fine match. That said, I'm a fan of fiberglass, as well (it's what we're using). If you don't like the look of the Marvin, perhaps check out the new Kobe fiberglass option.

Absolutely they do.

If you're in snow country, as your handle suggests, and you go with an aluminum window, I would suggest a "thermally broken" window. My favorite are Fleetwood. They're on the expensive end but worth every penny with super smooth operating hardware.
