So glad I found this thread, gold is so hard. :( I've used BM Ivorie and Blonde in past projects and always found them a bit yellow. I just did my bedroom, don't remember the color but looked gorgeous on the card, and it's too orange on the walls. My boyfriend's house has three different golds and I hate all 3 - not in his house necessarily, but not what I want. One is yellow, one is orange and the other, well, I don't know, just don't like it. I am on a tight budget and really don't have extra $$ to waste on a dozen sample pots, though if I can narrow it down to just 2 or 3 I'm sure it's worth that route rather than hating the color. Restrained Gold is lovely, but in my previous home I chose Fairmont Suite Gold over it (Lowes brand). Loved the color there, and it was with the same odd color leather sofa I am still using, but it was a huge house, very open with lots of light. The townhouse I'm getting ready to paint and move to is very small, no natural light, ugh. I really need lighter, but still gold without going yellow. Which of your GOLDS would you recommend that are on the lighter side without looking yellow or peachy?

Thank you charlieinnj for the compliments on the rooms! The drapes are some I bought from a cyber decorating buddy on a decorating board..she bought them off Ebay & were the wrong shade of red for her rug so sold them to me for the same price she paid. I scrunched the heading & hung on short rods with rings & thank you so much for thinking they are custom!! I think they are the same drapes Tuesday Morning & Bed, Bath, & beyond have so they are store bought. Hope this helps.......Bonnie

mollie - the paint in the kitchen and mudroom is from Ben Moore's new Affinity line in their Aura paints - it is AF-345 Honeymoon. The powder bath is AF-235 Warmed Cognac and the large bath (not our master, it's actually a main level bath for used w/ the mudroom) is HC-143 Wythe Blue. The tile is from Cerdomus out of Italy (but not expensive, you have to check it out in a store near you, it's wonderful and super industrial-strength!) - it's from Cerdomus' Kairos line in the color "Ocra" - I also considered their color "Ruggine", it's really pretty.

Brad - what a foresighted young man you were! Alas, I didn't realize my garden avocation until my early 30's. We are of an age, you and I - so many of us tail-end baby boomers. But my early garden years were dedicated to vegetables over flowers. I owe my new found love of daylilies, ironically enough, to zinnias, which I started breeding 4 years ago under the tutelage of the Zenman here on GW. Well, I've got a start, and perhaps gradually I will accumulate daylilies that I can trade with others. Alex
