better way to strip painted brick fireplace?

This is round two of attempting to strip paint off our old antique brick fireplace (45 yr old house that used antique bricks on exterior and this). We used citristrip to get as much of the paint off as possible, have used a scraper, wire brush, steel wool attachment on a drill, mineral spirits etc. the brick appears to be limewashed underneath in that they are still kind of white under the layer of paint. Does anyone have any suggestions? because this is painstakingly slow and fumey and messy. Any help appreciated! We’re also getting the original Saltillo tiles professionally stripped of an stained expoxy that has flaked off and looks terrible. Taking these materials back to natural as much as possible!
