Anyone Else disappointed with Lima Production?
Comments (4)Maria i had very good luck with Dixie Speckled Butter Pea limas this year. Only a four foot row but i have been able to pick a meal every few weeks and they have good flavor. My goal is to have perennial, low maintenance vegetables that produce a continous small harvest and these little beans are perfect for that. The only drawback is that picking from the bush form can be a little tedious, especially if you have a 100' row to pick! i will be slowly experimenting with some pole varieties in the future. There is a lima bean thread on the bean forum with a picture of some Hopi Limas that are absolutely eye-popping, just smothered in fat little pods. You might want to pop over and check it out. Seems like a lot of folks had unusually cold, wet summer weather this year and i think Limas like it warm so yes, hope the sun is stronger next year for you ; ) MN gardener-how different our experiences are! Long beans and cowpeas absolutely decimated by powdery mildew this year in my garden, green beans almost as bad. The limas? Untouched. One of the few pest and disease free crops for me this year....See MoreYour most disappointing plant purchase?
Comments (17)I can relate to a lot that are already named, but my BIGGEST and most expensive disappointment was my "Endless Summer" hydrangea. I planted it in spring of "04, it diddled around with a few drooping but beautiful blooms - even if you almost had to lie on the ground to see them. I followed the extensive directions to a T. This spring - deader than a doornail. Now, after being told how hardy it was last year, they are saying it needs a foot of mulch - imagine a foot of mulch and nothing was even mentioned about winter protection. They only said it was hardy in our zone. So much for a bunch a daylilies or hostas I could have had. jan...See MoreUpdate On New Home Purchase Disappointment
Comments (1)It looks like Levitt and Sons, LLC word can stand the test of time when it came to my wife and I getting our $500 Travel Reimbursement check only 2 days later than the estimated 30 days! The check was in our PO Box today. I certainly hope that the people that have already moved into their "Seasons at Prince Creek West" homes don't have to wait too much longer for their Clubhouse Center that they were told about in mid 2006. I'll be going back to Murrells Inlet, SC soon, so I'll be sure to peek in to see what progress is being made. Comments (204)@Ronnie Hossain Pella was sued and settled the case for Pella ProLine casement, awning, or transom window which were manufactured between January 1, 1991, and December 31, 2009 (“Pella ProLine Casement Window”) As @millworkman said, most issues people having is improper installation, and for every complaint, we address when it comes to newly installed windows or doors or anything else for that matter 90% of the issues are related to improper installation or flashing applications, etc. Not sure what happened in your case since you didn't say what issues you experienced yes some company representatives do try to point the arrows at the installers but most of the time they're right because not many follow the manufacturer's guidelines and not only when it comes to windows I see that with backer board installations, with composite decking installations, etc. That being said, I'm not defending Pella window manufacturer, I never used Pella and never suggested using them, just telling you based on my general experience... If you take the best product out there and you do not follow the manufacturer's minimum installation requirements there will be issues. Good luck...See Moresalonva
