Usually used as a summer annual for hot summer locations, where it does best. Here in coastal California, it remains somewhat stunted in growth until it finally warms up enough to encourage active growth, as here in the San Francisco Bay Area the 55F summer night temps don't really suit the plant to kick into high gear. Probably grows like a weed in the south, what with the heat and humidity all summer long.

priswell, Glechoma hederacea "Creeping Charlie" is an entirely different plant although it is in the same family, Lamiaceae, as the Plectranthus spp "Swedish Ivy."

Tall ones look a lot like 4 o'clocks (mirabilis) - on the right front looks like something in the nightshade family...
