I prefer the more squared seating that I suggested, in part because then a majority of the seating is facing outward to the view. In the angled seating, the two chairs have their backs to the yard and are facing the house. I think it also gives a more open feeling, and eliminates that 'seats around the campfire' feeling of one seat on each side of the centered table. However, everyone knows my mantra is "your house, your choice'. You live in the space, and you have to love how things are arranged. If the angled seating works best for you, then that is the way you should use it! Just wondering, leaving things angled as they are in the last pix, could the square table fit flat against the railing between the two chairs? Or is it too large? That might open up the seating - you could add a side table at the end of the loveseat if needed.

Given that your furniture is not heavy, I wouldn't bother with cardboard cutouts but would just start moving things around. Starting with your "living room" furniture, if this were an indoor room you'd realize right away that you need a coffee table. I would put the sofa where you now have the love seat with its back about a foot from the wall. Put the love seat in an L shape with it's back to the white fence. Put the 2 chairs side by side, facing the house. Now you have a conversation area in a U shape, with the open part facing the grill and dining table. Add an indoor-outdoor rug which is big enough to go at least a foot under each seat. Add some color with the rug, and repeat the color with a few pillows. Bonus if you can find some flowers or flowering shrubs to repeat the color too. A rug under your dining area would be good too. For the path that goes from the gate to the patio, you may want to move the 2 stepping stones closest to the patio so that they touch the corner of the patio, not the middle. That will further reinforce the "conversation area" feeling. Same as indoors, the width should be about 2/3 of the width of the sofa. If you can find a piece of wall art that is suitable for outdoors (metal, driftwood) and hang it over the sofa, that would further reinforce the "room" feeling. A shabby chic style window like this would look great over your wicker sofa. If window glass makes it too heavy to hang, maybe replace with acrylic panels. If it’s possible to drill holes in the long runners, you could use screw glides, as shown along the first line of this webpage: https://www.patiofurnituresupplies.com/patio-furniture-parts/foot-glides.html There are two possible ways that you could mount the glides. (1) drill a hole of a size such that the “adjustable screw glide insert” fits very tightly into the hole when tapped in from the upper side of the runner. Then screw a glide into it. OR (2) drill a hole into the runner and insert the glide into the hole and then fasten it using a cap nut on the upper side of the runner to hold the glide on. The cap nut will give a more finished look than a regular nut. Whether you use (1) or (2) depends on the thickness of the runner. You need a fairly thick runner to use procedure (1), I think. You would need two glides for each runner and because they are adjustable, you should be able to get the chairs to sit flat on the deck surface.
