maire-cate, my DH started baking after he retired too....he makes our graham crackers all the time...a healthier alternative to cookies and they are delish, esp with penzey's vietnamese cinnamon. Yum!

Murraysmom, I used to give cat food to an old lady who lived down the bayou from me. I had her 4 cats neutered for her. She died and I fed the cats. Meanwhile, someone dumped out a white cat there. She had kittens. I told her boyfriend I would find homes for the kittens. He said he was keeping one and he knew people who would take the others. But he moved off and left them. I moved away but furnished food and paid someone to feed them. Once I got settled, I went back and got them. By then the mama cat, and her 3 daughters were all pregnant...they all had white kittens. I have so many white cats, I can hardly tell them apart.

C and I went to Windsor casino Friday and stayed overnight. 22nd floor. She gets a suite (free) with 2 bathrooms. Mine was huge. It's cool seeing the barges on the river steadily. We were supposed to go on a riverboat cruise but they called Sat morning to say it was cancelled due to high winds. So we gambled some more, headed out around 12:30. Traffic was good till about 1.5 hours from home. Standstill, all lanes closed, collision fatality. We pulled into my driveway at 7:15, which should have been a 3-hour drive. Inching along till the nearest exit where everyone got off. We saw a rainbow though and I came home $300 richer
