Sliding glass shower doors not wide enough?
Comments (1)60" shower doors are actually made for 60" tubs and prefabricated shower pans which are 60" stud to stud, and after cement board and tile installation end up at a bit over 58" usually. If yours will be 60" finished surface to finished surface instead of the above, you should look for one that is wider than 60", they do exist....See MoreHELP - Sliding Patio Door with blinds inside glass
Comments (7)Hello Chipmonk. My final decision was to forgo the blind option altogether. We didn't need them for privacy, just for sun and heat protection. I thought I'd end up selecting a window treatment covering to minimize the sun and heat after the installation, but I haven't needed one. With my builders assistance, we chose Harvey Building Products door and window for our kitchen and decided upon the Tribute line...double pane sliding patio door (they don't put interior blinds in their doors), and double pane sliding window over the sink (so effortless to slide). We noticed a difference immediately with the double glazed, low E argon, easy sun clean glass. The amount of sun and heat that gets through is mimimal compared to our original glass. We have been through the heat of the summer and surprisingly we never missed having blinds. This glass has been wonderful for blocking out a considerable amount of noise, the suns rays, and heat...far exceding my expectations. Upon closing the slider the heat is sealed off and you can visibly see the reduction of the suns rays. We coundn't be more pleased with our selection. I enjoy having the wide open windows for unobstructed light and view. Wishing you well with your project and good luck with your final selections....See MoreReplace ~96"x80" RO sliding glass door with glass swinging door?
Comments (3)Is there anything else wrong with the door? Rollers can be fixed/serviced quite easily in many cases. As to your question about a 4' French door, I would be cautious about that. French doors are notoriously sensitive to operation and size. A 4' door, hanging out in space, hinged, and heavy (i.e. full glass) is a recipe for operational difficulty in my opinion. There are plenty of sliders that can be opened with a single finger's effort. I think you need to see one of those type doors and feel the operation on it to make and apt comparison and then decision....See MoreNeed Help Removing Spots From Glass In Sliding Glass Door
Comments (4)It may not be a stain from minerals but etched watermarks from a cleaner containing a fluoride compound of some sort usually found in metal cleaners. Vinegar will not do what you have and I would speculate the cleaning lady used something else with the ability to etch glass such as a stainless steel cleaner or diluted drain cleaner. If nothing else works I would suggest trying Duragloss Nu-glass #755 and can be found in most auto part stores. It is formulated to remove etched watermarks from glass but requires a lot of elbow work or a buffing attachment on a power tool....See MoreAshley Scott
