Backsplash to go with Taj Mahal Quartzite
Comments (12)Thank you for these ideas. I really like the White Haze posted above. I went on the website: https://akdo.com/?s=haze and it looks like that color/materials comes in many different sizes and patterns. I'll try to get a sample....See MoreTaj Mahal Quartzite questions!
Comments (23)I had/have Taj Mahal in two kitchens and also have it outside as my outdoor kitchen counter and backsplash behind the grill. None of it sealed. The backsplash behind the grill gets grease and soot on it and I just clean it with Lysol kitchen cleaner that is good at removing grease. The only issue with the Taj Mahal piece behind the grill, which was a remnant, is that it has a fair amount of filler, which might not be as durable long term with the exposure to high heat from the grill....See MoreCabinet color for Taj Mahal Quartzite Kraftmaid Dove or Warm white?
Comments (58)Laurie, Here is a picture of the bathroom with translucent driftwood and Taj. I can't find one right now of the island and we're actually not home. If you want one of the island, I'm more than happy to do that when we get back in a couple of days. Are you looking at Kraftmaid cabinets? I will tell you, we've had ALL kinds of issues! If I were to do this again, which we never will, I would NOT get KM! Especially from the box store we went through. UGH The finished project looks nice, but ........................................ Also, this piece of Taj in the bath is a different slab than the kitchen. It doesn't have as much gray as the kitchen. The kitchen is a nice blend of cool AND warm colors. Comments (4)Thanks for the feedback! Verbo, this is just a countertop replacement on an existing cabinet base, so the cooking zone is stuck there, unfortunately. There is 28” on one side and 42” on the other. We are actually extending the island on the one side, so think we will be okay for prep space, as we haven’t had a problem over the last few years with the smaller space. Would love to have moved the range, but our space didn’t really allow for it. The venting has seemed adequate, though. So we were just deciding how to have the slab cut. Chispa, the 2 clipped corners follow the angled lines of the cabinet there and match clipped corners on the perimeter counter at that end. The other end will have an overhang with a seating area, so we did not clip the corners there (and it matches the nearest corners on the perimeter there). I probably wouldn’t have chosen if starting from scratch, but we are just doing a “facelift,” so working with some existing design elements. Thanks again for input!...See MoreDevix Kitchens
