We have a wide-plank paneling throughout our circa 1998 reproduction farmhouse - on several walls in the kitchen and used as waiscoting in all the baths. We also have several ceilings planked with it. We didn't build the house, but from what I can tell (we had to take down the ceilings to insulate behind them), they just took regular dimensional pine lumber (varying from about 1x5 up to about 1x10 or 1x12), routed one side to give it a bead, and nail-gunned it to the wall. The downside is that it is quite thick (you'll almost certainly have to adjust placement of your outlets and add to your window trim and such) but it definitely gives an authentic farmhouse look. Oh, and originally when the house was built, they did not seal the knotholes, so they bled through (you'll see it in one of the pics below). I don't like that look at all, so I've been sealing the knotholes with several coats of BIN as I repaint (and there are still a few stubborn ones that are managing to make it through the BIN). If you don't like the knotholes, I'd highly recommend sealing the heck out of them before installing/priming/painting. I'll attach some random pics that show the paneling throughout our house (please ignore any messes in the pics - they were all taken for something else, usually in the middle of some project or another).

Click and float. If I had to glue it down, I would just do porcelain, since I'm pretty good at tile work (I just have soooo much more tile work to do) Why can't it go under cabinets? I would figure any expansion might be hindered, but could expand the other way (not a very large room, maybe 6' wide to the shower wall. The vanity is a RH furniture vanity, so the feed are on sliders anyway. Floor will take the weight, but with minimal contact area for any relative motion. Clawfoot tub is the same. Thanks all.

I personally like the porcelain marble look tile floors for a bathroom. Very luxurious. And there are some very good look a likes. I have wood look tile in my whole downstairs and while I love it and it is beautiful, it is more rustic than I’d like in a bathroom.

The travertine I looked at looks like a gold or yellow tone. I continued searching for vinyl tiles, and I am now overwhelmed. The ONLY flooring place near us (1/2 hr away) was the one who suggested Coretec Pro Plus. She picked the colors with my oak wood. Originally she picked a medium dark brown vinyl plank. I thought that vinyl planks next to real wood planks (a cabinet) was a huge no-no. Maybe it was for a vinyl wood floor next to a real floor that was a no-no. The medium oak color is going to have to stay since he installed it today. He had already stained and finished it. Reading hundreds of Houzz posts about vinyl tiles/planks has not helped. Footprints, cloudy floors, scratches...oh my! Some people hate vinyl and others love it. They even have the exact same brand. I found one post with over 2200 responses. I will read it tomorrow. I can't find any color that I like except for the wood looking planks, but I think the tile looking vinyl would look better. I am out of time. I paid for the baseboard trim to be installed, but now we will have to install it ourselves. The contractor is almost finished so I will have to pay him with the trim uninstalled. Not his fault I couldn't find what I wanted. I just don't know what to choose. He told me ceramic tile was out which was what I wanted originally. I discovered Supercore today, so more research is needed. I am so sick of remodeling.
