Owner input - BlueStar 24-inch range
Comments (1)I have a 24" Bluestar range. I mentioned on a recent thread that I have a 20" x 16" cookie sheet that fits fine. And I bake bread etc. Yes, it still takes time to pre-heat, esp. if it's 500 or more degrees. I'm going to guess that it's approx. 25 minutes. The broiler gets hot in 2 minutes though. That's fast. I have no problem with the size of the oven. It's fairly large as you've discovered. The oven racks are 20" wide and 18" deep, and the width of the oven is wider than the rack, so you can use the entire rack and air will still circulate. The height of the oven interior is 15" from floor to ceiling ,and 12" from lower rack to ceiling. If you needed more height than that, you just remove the oven racks and take the side rack supports out and lay them on the oven floor- they become a lower rack that sets about an inch off the floor....See More12 or 24 inch Griddle?
Comments (4)Thanks, Peter, that's what I was thinking -- I typically would not use more than four burners, and if I really needed more I could warm a pot in an oven or on the griddle if it's not being used. A 12 inch griddle sounds a little small to get a lot of use, and it would limit what it could be used for. I have a griddle pan I use now over a couple of burners but that creates a whole 'nother set of problems in terms of even heating, keeping it level, grease collection, etc. My thought is to have the "griddle in the middle" and two burners on each side. Would anyone configure it differently? Billy...See MoreBlueStar Griddles
Comments (6)I have the Blue Star 36" with 4 burners and a griddle. I do like it very much. Presently, I use the griddle for saturday breakfast food, or quesadillas, or grill cheese...things like that. I dont have 4 kids like the first person who wrote here...I can only imagine the quantity of food used. Usually, I feel like a short order cook..my two kids wont eat what I prepare for my husband and myself. So...the griddle does handle the different items I'm preparing... If I have to make 1 thing, well, sometimes it is easier just to pull out a pan to cook something in. Why dirty up the whole griddle that I have to clean...I'd rather just clean up a single pan. That is always the dilemma that I face...use the griddle or a single pan.... It just depends on how many of one item that I make... The grill...my salesman urged me not to...if you have a gas grill outside, imagine the dirt that is on that...do you want that mess in your kitchen? I grew up with a grill on my stove in the 80s...it was a fancy stove... and it caught on fire many times... I'm done with indoor grills...especially with the powerful Blue Star abilities... Just go with your gut...get want you want...pick a pretty color...See MoreBluestar vs Wolf griddle???
Comments (23)A friend shared this with us regarding BS: Griddle Temperature-will have three areas of different temperatures to allow for optimum griddle cooking (***Always allow for 30 minutes pre-heat time for optimal use***) 12” griddle -center will be the highest temp (Control Setting) -outer sides will be slightly lower temp than setting (20-25°) -front portion will be lowest temp from setting (30-40°) 24” griddle (2) griddle burners are located slightly to left of knob placement (on standard 484G configuration) -outer sides and directly in middle of griddle plate will be slightly lower temp than setting (20-25°) -front portion will be lowest temp from setting (30-40°)...See Morerobertgoulet
