After a quick consult with my BM CS fan deck both Rocking Chair and Strand of Pearls have a different under tone than the wood and fabric. Rocking Chair reads pinky and Strand of Pearls well I guess sort of muddy like the mud used to texture a wall. If it were me I'd go with a color like Hidden Cove or Butter Cookie more warm yellow toned than the cooler pinky purplish tone. Picking a neutral for a whole new build is tough, I just went through that last year. I'm slowly choosing colors and painting (hence the owning fan decks) living with one color everywhere drives me nuts! Good luck :)

Hi cerileen- I really like the room with the two blue velvet sofas. The color is rich, warm and inviting, and dark enough to work for a family, but not so dark as to be gloomy. But rather than a loveseat, if your room is large enough, I would get two sofas. A loveseat is really too small. Two adults really don't want to sit that close together. There are many fabrics that can give you that velvet feel. You can choose one that is relatively indestructible, stain-proof and waterproof. There are so many shades of deep blue, too, you can find just the one that works for you. Blue goes with everything, you can pick whatever accent you like for pillows and throws, and if you like, you can pick warmer colors for the winter (reds, rusts,oranges, umbers, ochres, yellows) and switch them out for cooler colors (blues, pale blues, greens, purples, lavenders) for the spring and summer. Or you can use the same accent colors all year long, there are no hard and fast rules anymore. You can use a light neutral for the curtains which would be a good idea with a saturated color on the sofas. And if you like, you can add a trim of the same shade of blue to the curtains such as a stripe at the inner and outer edge of the curtains, and if you want, a thicker stripe at the bottom hem. For your chairs, you can do a neutral fabric, or a print with many colors that will have your blue plus your accent colors in a weave or a stripe or a print, whatever is your fancy, and coordinate the throw pillows with that print. You can do two chairs like that, or one chair like that, and if your husband, must have a leather chair, then get a leather chair for him. Unless you really want a wing chair, you don't have to get one. There are some very nice well-stuffed club chairs with rounded silhouettes and backs high enough. If you think your husband would want to put his feet up, you can get him a smaller ottoman or foot stool for the front of his chair. Round end tables are a good idea, as they will be complementary to your tuxedo-style sofas which are a great choice. I would absolutely not get a round sofa table. As a family, you may well sit on the floor and play games at that sofa table, or your son may play games at that table with his friend while the adults carry on a conversation seated on the sofa. It is rather awkward to set up a game board on a round table. You definitely want a table large enough for a game board and drinks and snacks. If you did not have a child, I would have suggested a big square ottoman for a sofa table, but given that your sofa table may also serve as a game table, something more solid would serve your purposes better. Also, with a child, fiddling with trays on which to serve food and drinks is just too tricky. Do get a sofa table with casters that lock, or else your son may jiggle the table around, and your drinks will be all over the floor. Or you can buy a table you otherwise like and switch out the legs, just make sure they are thick enough to put in locking casters that you can get from any woodworking catalog like Rockler's. You might also be able to get them at Home Depot or Lowe's. Another thing, please only buy upholstered furniture that you have sat on. Comfort is of paramount importance. So many things matter besides what color the piece is and the cushions are made of. And inch and a half difference in seat length or height or 10 degrees difference in back incline can make you miserable, or comfortable for the first time in your life! Another thing, if you are going to buy a rug, think about a rug made by Ruggable. You can get one of the sisal-type rugs at Ikea to put under your existing rug to expand the space. This also helps if you like a rug but don't have the budget for a large size. I'd look at slip covers, purchased or made, for the furniture and a few decorative pillows. For furniture placement: A trick I learned from my mom: actually move the furniture around to see how different configurations really work - take everything out except the heavy furniture so do that first, then add the small stuff, plants, etc. Some nice decorative plant pots would also help the space. It looks like your furniture is placed a bit far away from the TV. You also could consider getting one of the expanding/rotating arms for the TV to give you more viewing/furniture placement options. It takes a little time to get the curated, layered looks that you see in pictures, but it can be done and takes less than you might think. Good luck!

Funkyart, I use an iPad Pro (Pro only means it is bigger) with a keyboard, exclusively. It does not support PowerPoint. The closest Apple app is Keynote. I never could figure out how to use Keynote. I’m using the free version of Canva which does not remove backgrounds. I also take a screenshot. I haven’t been able to figure out how to save it to photos yet. Canva does allow duplication of a mood board and the ability to add and subtract elements. For example, I added the SW Alabaster background as the last thing…only because I didn’t think to do it earlier. AD, I thought a green headboard would be nice, but the homeowner (a/k/a DD) voted it down. I’m surprised I got her to agree to this much color! The room still needs a bench or a small chair. The tweed fabric you posted might work great for that! DD’s white chest is going to be painted. We will pull a color from the background of the lake picture. Without having the picture in hand, BM Caldwell Green seems to be the front runner. jojoco, an Andes mint, of course, to keep the brown and green going! tartan, love the green lamp. Regretfully, the room needs light, so whatever lamp is chosen needs to have a white or cream shade. The Emperor lamp has a gold-lined black shade that really doesn’t give off much light. I also love pleated shades. James T. Farmer uses them so beautifully in his designs, but DD is very tailored. No pleats, no ruffles, no frills.
