"Green, green, it's green they say on the far side of the hill..." (Will mean something to those of us who recall the 1960's)

I enjoy the plants I brought in to over winter.

I'll probably have lots of green grass but not sure of shrubs and trees. I see some damaged and dying, esp. the older ones. But, like I say there probably WILL be more grass after I've removed the casualties.

This IS our green time of the year. Daffodils like all the rain we have been getting. Rare moment when the sun was out for a day.

Winter is our green time of year because this is when it rains, and we have not been able to mow the back yard for a while. A co-worker in Long Beach told me that she received a notice from the City of Long Beach that if people did not mow their yards they would be subject to fines.

In the summer, many people choose not to water their lawns (to save water), and so they turn brown, as do the hills.

From my trip to Lowes today! Scored! Tons of plants on clearance sale. These were all $1 to$5!

From last summer, waiting impatiently now for spring

I got everything planted and they look so beautiful! Nice to see colors in the yard again.

Love seeing all the green. Our green is buried under white at the moment! Hope to be back tomorrow with a photo if internet conditions allow posting pics. :-)
