Katherine, Share some pics of your existing cabs and BR finishes and your choices- we love voting! I spent months (cuz it took us over a year to do our Basement BR) picking hardware to match. I did get all shiny chrome and love how it all relates. But my existing upstairs cabinet hardware doesn't match the fixtures at all, and I never gave it a second's thought when we bought the house, and I would hazard a guess that no one has ever even noticed. Think of the cabinets as furniture- I bet you have rooms in your house where the furniture hardware does not all match!

I think that ORB is the go-with-jsut-about-everything finish. It works with the golden tones in brass and copper, and contrasts nicely with the cooler finishes like nickel, chrome, stainless, etc. In my remodel, I am using ORB (the dark kind) and mixing it with a chrome faucet, and mercury glass. I think your choice will be fine! Just don't throw a third really different finish into the mix, and it will look great.

I like the brushed nickel that matches your faucets. I also like (and I have) the ones you pictured toward the top - not the ones your husband bought and tried. They are 2 different levers. The ones your husband bought are plainer. I love the curly ones. And, apparently I'm in the minority, but I think all the finishes in a house should match. Light fixtures, door handles, cabinet hardware, faucets. It took a while after buying our house to change everything out, but I bought a new door handle every payday until we were done.

When I chose pulls and knobs for my kitchen I bought a bunch of different styles and colors. The ones that looked the best were not the ones I thought would look best. Actually the pulls we chose I only got because they were marked down.
