Comments (16)Hi Jay, Just a few tips before you hang that dry wall. 1) Did you install blocking for all those bathroom fixtures you wanted. I.E. a towel rail, toilet paper holder, shower curtain rod will need extra wood support behind the dry wall? 2) Did you install extra wood blocking behing the try wall for all areas you want to hang a plasma / LCD television? 3) Did you install all the Audio visual cables for your plasma television. HDMI, RGB, Component Video. RG6 Coazial, Ethernet? 4) Did you put all the correct shower valves in. Note these have to be behind the sheetrock. 5) Did you put blocking in to hang your kitchen cabinets? 6) Electrical wiring. I guess your GC should have done this, but do you have a LIVE, NEUTRAL and GRND at all the light switches. Why? because if you want to install some of the more fancy Z-Wave home automation switches in the future you need LIVE, NEUTRAl and GROUND at the switch box for them to work. The rest can be handled in what ever order seems convenient. best, Mike....See MoreNeed help picking door styles and door hardware..
Comments (11)Levers are also more convenient when your hands are full. I like the look of knobs but the functionality of levers, and for us functionality won. Consider how tall your doors are. We initially chose two panel doors for our home after seeing and loving them in the showroom. At our house, however, doors will be 8’ with 9-10’ ceilings (v. standard shorter size in the showroom). I recently saw that style of door in the 8’ size, and it just loses something. We’re now considering a three panel option. For hardware we found the new Schlage custom line and really like it. It has a nice heft and finish while being a little less expensive then Emtek. The Latitude lever is a nice contemporary choice, and they have a rectangular rosette (though not quite as tall)....See MoreHelp!!! I am in overload! i need help selecting door hardware
Comments (2)Update! We’ve received our knob and door hardware and the lockset for our new entry door. I went with the Baldwin matte black too for interior knobs. For the entry I got the Stainless Santa Cruze lockset. I also took the shutters down yesterday! I can’t wait for our exterior doors to arrive. Those brick beds are crumbling more every day. I can’t wait for it to cool down so I can work on getting those out. New storm windows are next. Things are coming together....See MoreHelp Please - Trying to finding matching trim for door hardware
Comments (3)have only found one that is either square on both sides or round on both sides. If the one you found is the same brand, possibly buy one square/ one round and interchange the escutcheons? The core is likely the same in both so could be a simple matter of using parts from one on the other. And you would have a spare cylinder in case something goes wrong or you need to change keys?...See Moretheresa6
