Our house is 7 years old and has its original SW Duration Exterior Paint on the trim. Most of the house is stone, except there is wood trim in Belvedere Tan, Navajo White, and one small wing in cedar shingle painted Dark Birch (I'm fairly sure--it is a driftwood color), all SW colors. We are having the trim painted again. It is all in good condition except for a small area of Belvedere Tan on the front of a south-facing balcony. Our paint contractor usually uses Duration, but will use whatever brand and paint we wish. So, here is my question: Should I specify SW Duration Exterior again, or should I switch to FPE? I am sure he will not remove every piece of wood and prime on 6 sides, which I think is the only way to meet FPE's guaranty requirements. I do not want to change any of the colors because they work so well with the stone. Thanks for your thoughts! Oh, and we are roughly equidistant from Austin, Houston, and San Antonio, so whatever paints are available among the three are fair game. You have a very pretty house which would look great in any colour! So the sky's the limit! Look around your neighbourhood and on Houzz and figure out what colour combinations you like. Also keep in mind the colour of your roof. If you are planning to replace your roof soon, let that also be a consideration. If you won't be changing the roof any time soon, then your paint choice will be more limited. And like Patricia Colwell said, start an idea book. As you add pictures to your idea book, you'll see that a certain colour combination will keep appearing. And that will show you the direction you should go. Good luck! Your tiles are a very neutral color and I would not paint them. A lot of work for no benefit. A black door would look fine with them. What do you mean by a Georgian door? Do the interior in any style you like. It does not need to "match" the outside in any way. Your photo is pretty fuzzy. A clearer picture of the front door area would let us give you more advice.

Where are you located? Is your roof a redish/orange tone? You need to work with that and then improve your landscaping too. I think a Sage green color would be very nice. Maybe a light cream if you want a more yellow look. But not a strong yellow. Yellows get strong very fast. So go two shades less strength on yellows.
